So basically, there was a fast food restaurant called "Duncan's Fastest-Fresh Food." Back when the place was first open, there were twins who went missing & their bodies were found in the dumpster. Turns out the only robot, Duncan, didn't do his job properly in keeping the kids safe. The restaurant ended up closing down but then it reopened again. This time, however, the company built more security animatronics to help out with security in case Duncan malfunctioned again & didn't do his job properly. These new robots were: MGYT the Deer, Sgro, Sharky, and Freddster Master. There were other robots too but I'll save that part for later.
Did building those robots help solve the problem with security? Unfortunately, no. Turns out the night watchman of the place went crazy & said the animatronics were trying to kill him during the night so he tampered with their AI during the night. He ended up getting fired for that but turns out after the robots' AIs were tampered with, turns out 5 more children were murdered. Only this time, the bodies were nowhere to be found.
Not even two days after the murder, the animatronics' AIs were fixed however, that didn't stop them from acting unusual. The animatronics were starting to develop a bad smell of rotting flesh inside of them. A certain employee WAS planning on calling the police to shut the place down for health reasons. He got on his phone & was about to call them, until suddenly, one of the animatronics ran off stage, lunged at the employee & ended up tearing a huge hole in his head. Not even seconds later, some of the other characters got off their stages, ganged up on the employee, & started beating him to death.
The animatronics were dismantled after that & the government made it clear the restaurant was not to be opened again. The employee had to go to the emergency room & he ended up having major brain damage AND he had to be on crutches because one of the animatronics cracked the bones in his right leg. Few days later, the employee almost burned the hospital down because he claimed to see nightmarish versions of the animatronics roaming the hospital when in reality, he was having hallucinations because of his brain damage.
Months later, the company almost went bankrupt. Then the manager thought of a major idea that would surely help out the company. He thought since the animatronics were too dangerous to be released to the public, he decided to use what a bit of what little money the company had left & rented an old warehouse that his brother didn't need anymore. That way, the animatronics won't get in their way while their re-branding the restaurant with new & shiny characters that were more kid friendly.
He then needed a night watchman to work overnight so the animatronics wouldn't destroy the place which is why there's a shock mechanic. To keep some of the animatronics tame. The manager was hoping that maybe shocking the animatronics would fix the problems with them but he doubted it. An employee who's loyal to the company gladly accepted.
This is where the game begins.
