Well, it's been a while hasn't it...? (AGAIN)

Guess it's time for another devlog after... Four months!

(sorry)


First things off i'd like to announce that Jokemas is officially TWO YEARS OLD! (as of the 18th)

Developing this mod has bee a fun ride for me, i grew along with it, and i wouldn't change a thing about that!

To another beautiful however many years!

I would also like to say sorry for the teaser at the end of the last devlog, considering that date was NOT met in regards to anything of note releasing, lol.

For context, i originally intended to drop the demo on that day, but didn't take the fact that we had barely made any progress even at the time into account,

So the date was obviously not met, BUT in compensation for that, i am happy to say that we have made a LOT of progress in the last four months that we've been almost radio silent for!

FIRSTLY, Max's sprites are almost finished! Although i'm only willing to show a still image of her left pose this time, don't wanna spoil y'all too much ;)

Another good piece of news regarding her is that her song "Tomorrow" is almost finished! I won't show any of it today BUT i would like to give a shout out to hifish for making the song, i think you guys will really like it once the mod is out :D

Going onwards, i would like to announce a guest character!
(Yes, this mod will feature multiple guest characters as song opponents!)

Starting off with arcadiken's Toast!

They will be featured in the song "Taste of Autumn" which will also essentially be the first song in Max's campaign!

This also segways into the next topic, Campaigns!

Jokemas is currently planned to feature two campaigns, one for Boyfriend, continuing his story after the events of "Tomorrow" and obviously the main campaign featuring Max & Co.

Differently from Max's, Boyfriend's campaign will be structured similarly to the original game, with a week seleciton menu rather than the fully explorable overworld we'll see in the main campaign, this is both due to us not wanting to make multiple explorable maps, and also to differentiate the campaigns, giving more importance to the main one rather than Bf's, as we would like people to immerse themselves and connect with out original cast of characters, rather than a protagonist they've known for a long time!

Here's some concept art for what we'll be seeing in Boyfriend's campaign, as well as another semi-guest character.

As previously seen in RESIDENTIAL BAY he will be making an appearance in the first "Jeek" of Bf's campaign, taking place on the snowy mountain MT.RODE,

along with Cheesy, will be his friend Salt (created by SodyHum), a living saltshaker who doesn't care enough to bothered by anything.

Next up, before wrapping up i would like to talk about our new development studio!

12JSTUDIOS is a development studio ran by me and my friends, and Jokemas falls under the umbrella of projects we are developing!

(With many others that will be announced at a later date..)

With this will come a few changes to how development is handled, and it will just smooth out the whole experience for us overall, making it more about collaboration than anything!

We hope to bring you fun projects you can enjoy! Ranging from Webseries to our own Games! (and obviously, fan works of ours like Jokemas ^_^).

Aaand with that i would like to end this devlog!

But wait, wasn't there a lot done for the mod?

Well, yes while that IS true, i'd like to specify that most of that progress was mostly internal development stuff that i wouldn't like to share so soon! So sorry fo the short blog, BUT we'll be back soon with another, much bigger post, featuring more insight into the story and characters, as i feel that is important stuff to share!
