The difference between an Imperial Knight & an Imperial Dreadnought is that the Knight is a mech with a live pilot who can enter and leave his/her mech at-will, whereas the Dreadnought is a mech whose half-dead pilot is permanently on life-support technologies and is basically entombed in the mech until it is destroyed, or until the pilot succumbs to their injuries.
