“What About PersoNO Golden?”


Introduction


I have received a lot of questions around why I decided to remaster PersoNO instead of making PersoNO Golden. The easy answer is, “because this is easier”. At least, that was originally my answer. As time has passed with development, I found myself a little unsatisfied with the state of PersoNO compared to PersoNO 0. Of course, the regular PersoNO is just as enjoyable as any other and I’m glad I’m providing a definitive way to experience this game. However, when compared with PersoNO 0, it’s evident that it lacks some innovation and is nowhere near as polished. Now being more familiar with the ins and outs of RPGMaker, I feel that making a PersoNO Golden could actually very well be feasible.


How would this work?

If I were to make PersoNO Golden, I would remake it using PersoNO 0 as a project base, using PSNTSNRCDE as a reference for copying things over. It would be a tedious process of rewriting events and remaking maps, but to truly innovate on what is here, I feel this would be the best course of action. This means that things like proper Persona 4 Golden UI, the further built-on battle system, an Adachi and Dojima social link, and a fully implemented shopping district that hopefully looks identical to the original Persona 4. This ideology extends to other features introduced in Persona 4 Golden as well, with features like going out at night, riding the motorbike, and others. I’d try my best to make it as on par with PersoNO 0 in terms of gameplay as possible, if not surpassing.


When will this happen!?

Unfortunately, I don’t see myself working on a project of that scope for quite a while. However, it’s not to say that it won’t happen. For now, I’d like to focus on finishing the final release of PSNTSNRCDE and making sure everything is stable. If what I’ve discussed here were to ever come to fruition, it would be preferably some time after the release. For now, I will focus on adding and implementing the new social links.


Conclusion + Help Wanted!

I said I was working on Yumi’s social link in the last status update, however I haven’t been able to start working on it because as of right now there is no transcript of Yumi’s social link. If anyone could help me and transcribe all of Yumi’s social link + all choices and answers, it would be of great appreciation. On top of this, I am in need of artists that can work with paint.net to modify RPGMaker sprites to help create Hisano and Emi sprites, both of which are necessary in going forth with the development of all 3 SLs. In the end, PersoNO Golden might happen. It might not. However, things are looking like it could be a possibility in the future. Ok bye bye now :)
