What Did You Expect is an album that I will be releasing this summer (hopefully). With that being said, it originally was meant to be me slapping songs together over the course of a 9 track album. But one important event happened while developing the album:
GHOSTLY'S GREAT DISCOVERY OF PINK FLOYD
For those who don't know, Pink Floyd is an English rock band formed in 1965. And while some people don't know them or their names or anything really about them, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE has seen the prism of Light. How does the Prism of Light and Pink Floyd relate? Well the prism of light was featured on the cover for their 1973 album, "Dark Side of The Moon," one of the most influential albums of all time both song wise and cover wise. You see, the only reason you even have seen this symbol more than once is because of Pink Floyd. And I know that for a fact. The reason it's such a popular symbol in modern day imagery is BECAUSE OF PINK FLOYD. Needless to say, these British guys were like, awesome. And I recently discovered their music and have fallen in love with it. They are seriously my favorite band right now and I, for the life of me, can't stop listening to their stuff. But Pink Floyd has one thing that makes them unique throughout all their releases, and that is...
CONCEPT ALBUMS
Concept albums are a form of album that tells a story throughout it's entirety. And Pink Floyd does those kinds of albums like... All the time. And obviously, me being in the middle of developing an album and just discovering Pink Floyd, made me want to change up the style of the album, thus, my conclusion...
WHAT DID YOU EXPECT IS GOING TO BE A CONCEPT ALBUM!
Now this will mean that once again, I'm going to change the names of songs. I'm sorry for the inconsistency, but this is truly the best path for it. Big developments will be made and I will have to rewrite songs, but that's okay. Everything will pay off in the end. I'm excited to share it with you all.. happy listening...
