What is Heaven's Point?

Greetings people!

We have recieved a couple of questions regarding what Heaven’s Point actually is about. Is it a beat ‘em up? Is it an adventure game? Well, the easy answer is that it’s a mix of both.

We draw inspiration from many sources. The team grew up with beat ‘em up games on the NES, SNES and SEGA Genesis, but we also played alot of point and click games on PC from great developers such as Lucas Arts.

The idea for mixing these two genres together was born when we realized that we wanted the player to be able to interact with the game’s environments more. Our plan was to make lots of the environment destroyable. Lamps, fire hydrants, tvs, windows, chairs etc. But just random destruction doesn’t really add much to the player experience. We want the player to be able to interact with the environment, find secrets and solve problems without too much handholding, just like the good old days of gaming. We are aiming to create a semi-open world where the player is free to roam and explore the city at their own pace.

We aim to include the following in Heaven’s Point:

  • Beat ‘em up gameplay, where you’ll be able to learn new moves and evolve your fighting skills. Use different weapons, throw items etc.

  • Point and click-like elements where you examine or interact with objects in the envionment.

  • Semi-open world for you to explore. Unlock new areas by progressing through the story or by solving puzzles.

  • World map. In order to reach other neighbourhoods/areas of the map you need to take a taxi.

  • Inventory system, store items and combine different items in order to make new ones. Use items from the inventory to solve puzzles.

  • Stats system. Level up your character and spend points on different attributes in order to get tougher.

  • Day and night cycle with different events playing out depending on the time of day. Nightclubs are for example only enterable during nighttime.

What are your thoughts on our plans for Heaven’s Point? Please answer in the poll below!

Let me introduce you to the new Mech line: Gendai Spec. Those are Mech that specializes in surprise attacks, covered operations, and stealth. They are equipped with melee weapons but one of Gendai's frames supports sniper rifles.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
