What's been going on...

First of all let me say that I'm sorry, I never intended to just leave this project and the people who supported it behind. But let me just explain the situation.

After the release of Hypersomniac mode for Lucid Chapter 1 I began work on chapter 2. It went through many changes until it got to a point where I was happy with it, this is when I posted the screeshots. But I shortly began to second guess whether the project I was working on was going to be better than the first, or was it just going to have the same problems that plagued the first chapter (too difficult, vague, boring, etc). These thoughts became louder and louder but it was already too far into development to restructure things without starting over. So I lost passion for the project.

I intended to eventually finish the game at some point, but whenever I sat down to work on the game the thoughts would come back and I would psych myself out. I didn't want to give up what I had been working on, but I also didn't want to continue working. I ended up taking a break from game development.

Every so often I would work on a prototype for a new game, but in the end they would stay that way, just a prototype. I did eventually get back into game development and even revently joined a game jam, but I was never confident enough to return to Lucid. I'm also now starting to learn Unity because I was just itching to actually type code (before anyone says anything I know Unreal Engine has C++ support, but I think it's poopoo).

So the main point of this update is to tell you guys that chapter 2 is either never going to happen or it's not going to come out anytime soon. But before I leave Lucid behind to hopefully work on bigger and better games for you guys, I've been thinking about remaking Chapter 1 to make it WAY better. Chapter 1 had many, many issues that looking back on it makes me hurt inside. This remake isn't a definite idea, but it's one I've been toying with.

To end this update off I just want to sorry to the people who were looking forward to Chapter 2, and never got it. But better things are coming (hopefully). Oh ya, I also have a itch.io page now where I will post gamejam games to, so go follow me there: https://atlasandco.itch.io/ (don't expect much). Stay safe! :)

Out of boredom and curiosity, I coded Sailor Jupiter's Argentine Backbreaker.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa MarΓa Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
