What's coming to Chica's Party World: REBAKED 2.0? 🧁

Hey y'all! This is just a simple devlog talking about what's coming to the 2.0 version of the game, let me put it into perspective real quick:

Not only does this update fix things (so far there's over 30 bugs and additions logged!), but it also adds a ton of new content! I'll jump right to it since there's a LOT to cover. I'll just be noting the major changes/additions so far, the full content log will be available once the update is out.


Main Gameplay

  • Russel and Chica have been updated function wise in regards to how they respond to you flashing early. If you flash the door while Russel is in the crossroads, he'll immediately enter the doorway leaving you no time to recharge before he attacks. If you flash the door while Chica is in the crossroads, she'll immediately run in and kill you. Blind flashing is now a dead strategy, you HAVE to play by the rules.

  • Coraline's sound cue has been made actually noticeable! I'll also be reimplementing a scrapped feature from the earlier version where the first time she showed up in the game, the words "FIND HER." would appear onscreen letting you know that's what the sound cue is.

  • Tophat is now decently faster in the vents overall, he enters and leaves quicker.

  • Nights 1 and 2 have been rebalanced to be more interesting.

  • Silver Chicken has been more evenly balanced across her AI levels, her max AI still functions the same.

  • Silver Chicken's anger does not rise if the camera connection is offline and she's present in the camera you're viewing anymore.

  • Chica can no longer be flashed in the doorway if Silver Chicken is present in your room.

  • Coraline can no longer be tanked, she will now kill you on the fourth time she attacks you.

  • A and D to swap screens tip now lasts longer so it's more noticeable.

  • Russel now immediately kills the player upon entering the room as opposed to waiting a second leading to confusion.

  • Connection no longer cuts when Chica leaves a room since she isn't visible anyway.

  • Chica can no longer move to an entirely different position while her camera animation is playing.

  • Russel now gets more aggressive upon being flashed on Night 1 / While no one else is active, his AI now caps at 8 for this function as a counter balance.


Pre-Night Tasks / Free Roaming

  • Initially we were skeptical about this, but after reviewing and working through it we've decided the free roaming sections WILL have threats! We already have the mechanics fully planned out, and the render seen in this post is a small idea of what's to come!

  • Walking speed has been made 50% faster!

  • Glow effect on clickable items has been made far more noticeable!

  • Security's tape animation is now flipped so it actually makes sense with the dialogue.

  • You'll be able to see where you're looking on the tab's mini-map!

  • Time required to receive hints in free roaming has been lowered to 90 seconds.

  • Due to the addition of threats, the free roaming now only counts if you've completed the task once you reach the office after completion. Good ending items are unaffected by this change and will continue to function the same way as before.

  • All four items for the good ending are now mandatory as opposed to 3/4.


Overall Additions / Changes

  • Game Over screen is now way faster.

  • Game Over screen icons now have the "!" appear when hovering over them so you know you can click on them.

  • LED flash effect is now longer!

  • Cutscenes are now accessible from the Extras!

  • Some forgotten content is being added to the Behind the Scenes section! (Sorry @zaya_moone )

  • True Ending music is being made louder.

  • Credits are now skippable!

  • An in-between screen for the nights is now being added as opposed to forcing the player back to the menu!

  • New Game Plus has been adde- wait, what?


An entirely new mode is coming to Chica's!

You heard that right! Upon beating all max mode of the base game, an entirely new mode will be unlocked that puts a new twist on the base gameplay!

Now before you worry, this mode purely exists for those who are looking for even more of a challenge. It does NOT affect the main game's completion bar, and will have its own bar appear on the menu upon being activated.

As of right now, I'm unsure if New Game Plus will affect the free roaming as I don't think that'd work very well, but we'll see!


That's all for now! Due to how big this update has gotten, it'll definitely take a bit to properly come out. It IS currently about half-way done though, so we'll see how long it takes! Thank you all SO much for the support you've shown the project, and thank you for helping us figure out how we can make the game a better experience overall! It means the entire world to us.
