Across the last few hours, you and many other Undertale fans will probably have been wondering what is going on right now in regards to Dusttrust X. Some people may be out of the loop, so this post should summarise it pretty well.
Recently, Dusttrust X's version of Slaughter In The Spotlight, subtitled Through The Flame, was released. As usual with Nick's work, the FLP of the song was put up for purchase on Bandcamp. There's a debate as to whether or not selling songs for fangames based on Undertale is ethical or not, but that doesn't matter for the purposes of this discussion and I don't have any opinions on this matter knowing next to nothing about the legality of the topic.
Originally, the FLP was priced at $200, but was quickly changed to $85. This ordeal led to a lot of harassment towards Nick. I don't need to say it, but harassment is not an acceptable way to handle something like this. If you did this, I frankly think you should take a break from the internet, this is not a good way to be using your time on it.
The reason this is so controversial is specifically the price. I'm not very educated on what generally acceptable prices for buying FLPs are, so as such I can't really comment, but a lot of people don't like this price if it wasn't obvious. Ari's made a post on this that explains it better than I do. Do also read the comments if you can.
I've heard Nick plans on leaving the community following this, and considering all the harassment, I can't blame him and I hope he stays safe wherever he goes.
I hope this informed anyone on what's been happening. It's late and I need to go to bed to wrap this up, so I'll just end this here for now. Goodnight.
