This is a question I have been asked a lot recently.

Will there be any more updates to Determination?
Will you be making any more fan games?

The short answer is, no.
The long answer is yes, and a little more complicated than that.

Determination was never intended for release. It was always an experiment to help us learn how to create our own games, and to that end it has served us very well. The fact that it did so well was a shock to us. We didn’t expect anyone to pay it any attention.

I’d like to thank everyone who gave us feedback, comments, suggestions, and who made videos about Determination. You guys collectively blew us away with how awesome you’ve been. We even managed to hit 100,000 downloads! It’s insane to think some software I wrote has run on that many computers. That’s before I even get to views on youtube videos and awesome people who have reached out to us.

So, what’s next?

Nothing specific - yet.
We are working on making a game of our own. Set in our own world, with our own story, and our own mechanics. But how that will play out, and what form it will take is something that remains to be seen. There are several ideas that have been floating around and we’re working on some prototypes to see which one we want to commit to.

In the meantime, I’d like to ask people to be patient with us while we figure out what our next move is. If you’d like to keep up with our musings and ramblings please follow us on twitter, since that’s probably where information will be posted first.

As for determination, I won’t rule out ANY future updates. That would be silly, but it is extremely unlikely; since I’d like to eventually be able to just make games full time, and making fan games will never give me that option.

But, if I ever get really inspired, or frustrated with whatever else I’m doing, who knows? Anything is possible.

But, unless something major changes, this will probably be my last news post here. It’s been amazing, thank you to everyone who we spoke to, and who helped us on the way. People like:
