1 - Remodeled: Yes, you got that right. I decided to remodel the characters because I felt the first version was not only way too cheap - it also looked like the animatronics couldn't keep their mouth shut for a second. I was NOT satisfied.
So what did I do? I fired up C4D and started making a couple test models, and the following day, one variant was a lucky winner. I modeled 7 other animatronics based on that, but then my Windows install came off as unstable, so...
2 - Reset: Upon reinstallation, C4D R19 wouldn't fire up even if I did firewall tricks and installed the latest NVIDIA drivers. This was super frustrating, since I not only had to downgrade to R14 (new versions wouldn't perform well or even start, so I had to crack)
I used the 32-bit version to floor it with performance. Did it perform better? Absolutely. Did I have to remodel them all over again? Yes. Was it the end of the world? No.
3 - Rename: Shooter's Hamburger Company is actually a reboot of my 2021 fangame Colt & Friends - you can find it here: https://gamejolt.com/games/colt-1reupload/647402 (1) https://gamejolt.com/games/colt-2reupload/647836 (2)
And this was meant to be a mix of both games. I initially intended to include new characters too, but some of the characters in the draft versions of Service at Colin's didn't last too long.
4 - Why? Well, let's start with the reason that is the most limiting of all - my PC is extremely old. It's an old office HP with a Core 2 Duo that is relying on an SSD with a modded lightweight 10 that is "super light" apparently, 6 gigs of inconsistent DDR2 modules and a GTX 750 to survive. (I wonder HOW IN THE ABSOLUTE WORLD does that GPU even work on the thing) And some of the characters just had complex mechanics that would probably push the old little guy to burnout.
HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO GIVE Y'ALL A GAME THAT WON'T RUN EVEN ON MY PC!?!
That is one logical question. And not to mention 8-9 animatronics aren't guaranteed to fit all at once on a Pentium 4. Even if I lowered the game resolution to a meek 640x480, I don't think that combination would go easy on system resources.
Last of all, Freddy and friends are not my property, they belong to Scott Cawthon. Putting them in the game just ruins the "100% original" aspect I was going for. (For some, since Freddy and friends are in way too many fangames.)
I've decided to have the game reference them at some point, but if Service at Colin's 2 does happen and I do manage to get a better computer by then.... I'll decide who matters more - my imagination or that 1% of originality I promised y'all.
5 - Wrapping up: So, people - I've changed the game name, changed MANY things, and now I've found the final concept. Good day/night
