Hello all. I've already teased this a few times, and I think it's pretty obvious what this project is. I never formally announced it though, So I'm just going to do that now.
May I present:
Five Nights at Freddy's: The Awakenings REIMAGINED
This is not a reskin of the original, this is being made from the ground up using completely new assets, and new gameplay mechanics. I'm not calling it "Remastered" because that would mean the gameplay, story, etc. would stay the same, but would have updated graphics. This game will have brand new environments, and the gameplay will be overhauled drastically. My goal is to create a brand new experience while still keeping the spirit of the original.
What will happen to the original version?
Don't worry though, I'm not going to delete the original game/comments/screenshots. They will all be left here and will share this page with any and all new ones. The old and the new will coexist together. (I've already uploaded the new screenshots.) But it's worth noting that the original is no longer canon and the remake will be taking its place in the story.
Why are you remaking this? The original isn't even a year old!
The reason I made the game in the first place was so I could get used to actually finishing and releasing a project. Which is why I decided to use SFM as opposed to Blender or C4D, and why it's basically a less hectic FNAF 2. While I am immensely grateful for how much support I got from this one game despite its flaws., unfortunately the things just mentioned. The SFM graphics and the old gameplay just don't sit right with me. I want my games to be the best that they can be, and now that I know how to model rooms and props in Blender, why not try to make this game better? which is why I can say with confidence that REIMAGINED is the DEFINITIVE version of Five Nights at Freddy's: The Awakenings.
How will it be different?
All the cameras and animations are being made in Blender, rather than using premade maps and props. (although I did import a few models because I'm lazy :p. They are credited in the description). This means I am not limited to where the map will only look good from certain angles, and I'm free to design the environments however I like. Part of the reason I made Twisted Sister was so I could get used to modeling my own environments, and now that I have a better understanding of how Blender works , I feel confident in my ability to learn more. The gameplay will also be upgraded. I don't wanna give too much away, but my goals are for it to be more difficult, and to give the cameras more use. Rather than only needing to look at one and the rest end up being useless.
How much is done?
I have been working on this since December 2020, and right now I would say it's about 20% complete. Here's a list of what's been worked on:
main menu- 100%
All cameras have been modeled
AI for three characters are complete
Office mechanics- 100%
Save System- 80%
Everything else- 0%
I will keep you all updated on how progress goes when I can, But know that this remake will be SUBSTANTIALLY bigger than the original. So things may take awhile, I'm not worried though, you guys are incredibly patient . ;)
That's all I've got for now! Oh, by the way, I've been thinking about creating a GameJolt community for Fazbear Legacy. Would you guys be interested in a Community?
Stay safe everyone!
