Hello guys, peytonphile here. Though you may remember me as Mr. Manatee.
I should probably get right to the point. What is this game, what should you expect before and after the full game releases, and why am I making this? I'll tell you.
Someone in the comments (that you could very easily find), among other things, criticized the gamepage title. So, let me clarify: This game is a remake of the classic, original NBD by SubwooferX3. I am remaking everything he made, I am adding new content that changes the formula, and I am adding Subwoofer-inspired content. That is what a remake is, that is why this is called a remake.
That being said, I have let go of my absolute accuracy methodology that I applied in my 3.0 revival. In this game, I am taking a few liberties to change things and add things that I know for certain would not have been in the real game. That doesn't mean I don't want accuracy at all of course; you could probably tell from the character models and the layout that's been shown that I want this to be the most visually accurate remake ever.
I'm mainly saying that from a gameplay perspective, things will be different. Like with PNM's revivals, more than anything else I want this to be a fun game. Since there's a lot of discussion that NBD 2016 hasn't aged well, and knowing that the classic NBD was gonna have almost the same gameplay as the 2016 version, I feel like this is a good thing.
Like I said in the description, there's not going to be any demos. Beta-testers will be a thing (read the desc.), but the only thing I'll be posting to the page is more teasers. There's potential for a trailer, but I don't think I'll make one. However, after the game is either released or cancelled, I plan on releasing all of the assets of this project. The mfa, the blend files, the renders, behind the scenes content, you name it. I want it all out there! As long as I or the person who made the content is credited, you can do whatever the fuck with it.
Lastly, why am I making this. It's mainly because I have fond memories of when I was making my first revival, and of the models I made for my private attempts at reviving it. My NBD revival was my first game that got as popular as it did, and that leaves an impact on you. I use to be one of those stingy people that looked back on FNaTI as this rotten egg that I should throw way, but when I started helping with the official FNaTI, I quickly realized... who am I kidding? I love you guys, I love FNaTI, and I still love NBD. There's no silly beef I have with the community, I don't fucking care about "gvrfghwrnf children so annoying so toxic ugh". I think this community is great. So, let's finish what we started.
Once again, I remind you guys that beta-testing is open. Anyone can add me on Discord and shoot their shot. I'll be waiting.
