Where is the game now?

It’s been a long time since the game’s latest update. I’m sorry about that. I totally forgot that I could share some info about the game’s progress on here to be honest.

I recently finished the entire script, character cast, school design, item list (including New Game + items and cheat items) and more…

Recently, a major step forward in the game’s engine has been made by one if its users, who’s allowed us to use realtime 3D animations in Game Maker, which is an incredible accomplishment. It may not sound like much, but for Game Maker, let’s just say I’ve been waiting for a function like that for 9 years now.

I’m still working on the props, music and sound design. Audio panning is something that doesn’t work quite right in Game Maker, so I’ll have to find some creative solutions to get it working. Also, voice acting will be present in the final version of the game. Not too much, I don’t want the character’s voices to be the core element of the game and don’t want unnecessary conversations to disrupt the game’s flow.

There will also be many tie-ins with the game’s original demo version. It’s been quite a challenge to smoothly transition between the demo and the final product (which is still not finished might I add), but I am positive that it will be smooth.

Anyway, I want to thank you all for your continuous support and making my game what it is today. I’ve received tons of feedback, positive and negative comments which help me a lot and a lot of sweet messages from you all. I don’t want to keep you in the dark for too long anymore, until the game is finished of course ;)

I’ll try to get some updates out there here and there, but please do note that I am in college at the moment. I also have a job next to that in order to pay for college, so there isn’t that much time for me to work on the game, but I just love working on it too much to let go of what I’ve made so far.

Thank you all,
Noah

I cannot possibly thank @Xor enough for helping me getting the special effects working on Hideo's model! The game looks a thousand times better! Thank you!

Hello! It has been a very long time since the last... well... anything about Banned Memories.

I am glad to say it is still in development and serious improvements have been made. I'll try to keep you all posted more from now on. All the best!

So I've been re-designing Banned Memories' map.

Hey everyone. Another quick update regarding the future of the project. After having dealt with serious memory leaks that causes RAM usage to skyrocket, I spent the past few months fixing just that. The game runs perfectly now and it's coming soon!

Hi everyone,

I hope you've all had a fun and safe Halloween. This is a quick update on Banned Memories. The full game is around 75% done. I've added some new weapons, enemies and story elements to fully immerse you into Banned Memories. Stay tuned!

Hi everyone.

I have been working very hard on improving the game's environments, textures, models, animations, music and so much more to create the authentic horror experience I have always wanted to make.

Regarding the last update; I decided to bring the project back to life. I was really burned out after losing most of the game after working on it for nearly a decade, but here we are. It runs a lot better and it's definitely coming along very nicely.

Hi everyone, In this small update I wanted to showcase some features that are present within the game.

The game will feature full controller support as well as rebindable keys for both keyboard and gamepad.

Also, better animations!

Stay tuned!

Hello everyone!

It has been a long time since the last update, but there is some good news on the way.

I have finished almost all rooms in the entire game. The story is set and the graphics are getting their final touches.

Thanks for all the support!

Hey everyone, I'm definitely still working on it! It has been years since I released the original demo and I'm aiming to release the full game this year in Q3. Thanks for sticking around and catch you next time! - Noah
