Welcome back to episode 3 of accidentally creating nightmarish creatures from the Lovecraftian abyss while making pixel art. (or just up-scaling existing art, close enough)
I just had 3 layers of faces on at once, the reference one was at 50%opacity it was just her standard face, I used it to figure out the exact positioning. It's kinda hard to explain. Anyways, since Alphys has so many good facial expressions, I couldn't settle for just 8, so I used 16 instead (and there are still more I could have used 
there's a lot of expressions)
Anyways, maybe this image will illustrate what the reference layer is a bit better than I can describe.
Don't think I ever posted the full/isolated version of the intro panels for Twisted Will (my Undertale AU) by themself so here they are

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.
In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
