all of this is speculation from behaviours we have seen or are hinted at in the puzzlevision - puzzlepark arcs…

i’ll be covering symptoms of both autism and adhd specifically, as i believe he’s most likely to be either OR have audhd !!

i’ll also be covering the ones that are most likely/most common, as in symptoms that don’t have supporting evidence or something to go off won’t be added

WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY IN ADVANCE: i am greatly sorry if i mess up/poorly write any symptoms in this post. i’m still figuring things out about neurodiversity and it’s multiple symptoms (and how i could also be neurodivergent myself), so i greatly apologize if i do infact poorly write any of the symptoms here. :[

but anyway. let’s get started with it :]

Problems with social communication - straight up confirmed. its stated multiple times that puzzles had a difficult time making friends as a child, and in most cases neurodivergent children are more likely to have difficulty in making friends. but during his older years he seems to believe genuine kindness and compassion (for example, that one scene near the end with him and meggy) as a “dramatic act”… so that’s something

Restricted or repetitive behaviours or interests - semi-confirmed? when puzzles was a kid BEFORE his obsession with television, he had a giant interest in theme parks (said in wotfi 2024 by mr puzzles himself), but was seemingly forced out of this interest by his father (ALSO said in wotfi 2024 by mr puzzles). this along with his inability to make friends caused him to isolate himself in his room and watch tv all day, where i believe he became heavily fixiated as a result

Unusual mood or emotional reactions - semi-confirmed as well. we see mr puzzles freak out a BUNCH when he’s frustrated at something (for example in the gameshow episode where he yells at mario for not having subtitles for his answer and seemingly being tired after doing so). he also seems to freak out (crying, yelling, etc) when things don’t go his way… he also seems to be blunt and more monotone during certain times (like in once upon an smg4 where he straight up insults smg3’s stupid outfit in the most blunt voice ever) so it can be speculated he has trouble with showing emotions and stuff

Lack of focus/attentiveness - also semi-confirmed, he seems to lose interest almost IMMEDIATELY in things that do not interest him (a big example of this is in the “once upon a smg4” where he simply mutes smg3’s voice for talking for too long and seemingly boring him)

Impulsivity/Acting without consideration for consequences - this is seen a LOT through the puzzlevision and puzzlepark arcs, we see him do multiple things without considering the possible consequences of what could happen and assuming everything’ll go his way..

Negative self image - not… exactly confirmed? we can assume that he despised how he looked a while before he decided to enact the whole “cut off your face and put a tv in its place” plan… and we could probably assume he beat himself up over not getting 5 stars on his show… so it could be likely

Constant fidgeting/restlessness - mr puzzles movements are GREATLY exaggerated and hyperactive, i do believe this is for comical effect in the series but you know how is he (/silly) . he also seems to do a lot of hand gestures while talking (like in one night at smg4’s he does a wrist flick)

Increased risk of addiction - neurodivergent people have a greater risk of falling into addictions such as alcohol, smoking, etc due to anxiety or depression. at the VERY START of puzzlevision we see mr puzzles smoking as one of the first scenes. although he doesn’t smoke in any other scenes (at least that i remember), it can probably be assumed that he does in fact smoke . if we want to separate this from neurodiversity though, he could also have an addiction since smoking usually makes a person more “calm”… which could also be reasonable due to his childhood and general backstory

ok uh. i’m getting a litttleeeee burnt out as of writing this, so i’m going to stop here

once again: PLEASE tell me if i have poorly written any of the symptoms here. i’m a bit anxious to post this myself so uh. Yeah!

but anyway… that’s why i believe mr puzzles is a heavily neurodivergent coded character… apologies of this post was long, i had a bit of fun writing everything down :]
