Hello!
So, if you haven't noticed yet, I haven't been very active on this website recently.
I'll be honest and just get straight to the point - I haven't worked on this game in a while. In fact, development has come to a complete halt in the last few months.
I haven't had much motivation to work on this game. I've switched to a different form of content creation which involves making concepts for video games, more specifically the ones I've made for Dead By Daylight.
There seems to be a rather large demand for this content of mine, something I can't say about my FNaF projects on GameJolt. I've gotten much more success and recognition in just a few months than I've gotten in years of working on these fangames.
Not only that, but these videos take significantly less time and effort to make, and it's always something new and different each time. I also get to interact with and make content for a bunch of different communities simultaneously.
In my last update, I said that I would return to working on this game after a certain video was finished. But I was really surprised with it's reception upon release, and decided to focus on making concepts full-time instead.
So, what does this mean for the future of FREDBEAR AND FRIENDS 3.0? I'm not entirely sure. The files will always be there, so it's mainly just a matter of when I'll start working on it again. As for when that happens I am not certain.
I've got about a dozen different ideas for future concepts, and I doubt I'll stop working on them anytime soon. Not only that, but it's impossible for me to fit game development into my schedule now. Making YouTube content, studying and playing games in my free time already makes me too busy.
Cancelling the game would mean a 0% chance of it ever being finished. There is however a very slight chance that it would still be made eventually, but it wouldn't be anytime soon. It's likely that FNaF wouldn't even be relevant at that point anymore. Worst case scenario, if the game did get cancelled, I'd probably release uncut gameplay footage of the whole game with some type of developer commentary.
Anyways, this will probably be my last update on this game for a while, unless something changed somehow. If you're interested at all, here is my YouTube channel.
We still have uncut gameplay footage of the DBD FNaF concept on our schedule, so you can anticipate that instead. You can also check out our latest video, which includes a Springtrap cameo and a few seconds of gameplay on Fazbear's Fright.
TL;DR: No progress on the game, currently put aside with my YouTube content being a higher priority.
