Hey all, I haven't made any updates in quite a while on 2.0, so I'll get straight to it.


How much of 2.0 is done?

2.0 is about 80% complete, with the only thing that's left being a couple of reworks/changes and also, most importantly, Versus mode, which will be the biggest problem in finishing the update.
While everything planned for Versus mode does function, it'll be hard to implement everything as there is a LOT of content in Versus mode. (bonus characters and a LOT of skins)
There was a planned Build mode, however, it was recently scrapped due to it being wonky and also the fact that you couldn't save maps made it pretty much pointless.
Due to Versus mode, the game will also have like, a LOT of badges so that's also something which will push the game back too.


When will the game release?

April. Maaaybe.
I could hopefully get everything ready by then, would be cool and clever since the OG game also released in April.
I plan to finish all of my currently planned projects this year, so don't worry, 2.0 WILL release this year.


That's pretty much all I wanted to say, hopefully I can get back to work on 2.0 soon as it's been in the works for too long and I'd rather just get it over with than drag it on.

Next up

For day 2 of the drawing week I've drawn RedGlove from the original Sonic.EXE PC Port made all the way back in 2020 by JoeDoughBoi! Really proud of how this one turned out!

the game doesn't live up to it's ''generic'' title anymore but thaat's fine here's a sneak peek for one of the new features which will be important for the core gameplay loop! don't think this is an OP feature, you'll see why it isn't

just found out that if you invert 2011X's colors they perfectly resemble Malicious Yellow's (my EXE) colors. didn't even know this while making the character, good to know now though (it doesn't look that close when its normal sonic instead of 2011 btw)

I'm aware the game can be exploited in a few ways, but thankfully exploiting the mechanics is risky, so it's not a huge concern.

Night mode has FINALLY been tested and beaten! It is... quite hard, to say the least. This concludes the reworks of normal mode! The other modes will now be getting reworks!

Poll has ended, before it ended I made a new test AI and figured out that the double jumping would be too OP in such an open map, so only the double jumping will be kept (with an additional feature to make it have a use! game will be harder now probs)

For day 3 of the drawing week I have drawn Melthog (Legacy), an obscure but unique EXE created by NAC & Misfire that was a rejected character from the 1.5 update of Vs Sonic.EXE! (I only know about him cause of Dunachi lol)

Due to the menu rework being finished today, here is a small sneak peek! Day mode rework is nearly done, just needs balance changes and then testing.
