-Kirby's point of view-
Chaos. This was all chaos.
This shouldn't be happening, but here it is. He remembered that he once warned King Dedede about what would happen if there was ever a revolt. He recalled telling him that the Waddle Dee armies should be assembled and the knights should be even more on guard. But as usual the lazy king brushed the conversation off and pretended that it didn't happen. And then resumed consuming the strawberry shortcake that Kirby would have been delighted to finish.
And now the revolt was here, and nobody was prepared. It appeared that Kirby would have to be the one to “save the day” once again. And he hated it.
It looked like this time it wasn't going to be so easy. The main weapon the enemy was fixated on using was a gigantic battleship that had already recked havoc on countless public structures and presumably claimed countless lives.
The most amazing part about it all was that the King sat in his throne and watched it all happen. He did absolutely nothing to help. Sure some of the Waddle Dee's checked in on the Cappies to try and help out, but that was it.
Now Kirby would have to be the star of the show and fix this mess.
He carefully floated all the way up to where the battleship resided. It currently was hovering thousands of feet above the Orange Ocean, waiting to attack once more. If Kirby timed everything carefully, he could take down the battleship before it could deal out any more damage.
When he landed on the deck, there was a small army of enemies waiting for him. The army was rather large, pretty unusual for this sort of thing. He wasted no time in inhaling one who worked with fire. Spitting out fire balls was the copy ability that was one of the easiest for Kirby to use, and very effective. So effective that it only took him about five minutes to clean out the deck.
He suspected that there would be more enemies for him to fight along the way, so he got a move on. There was a somewhat lose panel near the edge of the ship which Kirby quickly picked off. The gap that had opened was just large enough for him to squeeze through.
Once he entered, he immediately realized where he was. It smelled like he was inside a vent. He really didn't like it in here, so he tried to move quickly. Unfortunately, he ran into a enormous robot that looked like a…. a lobster, perhaps? Kirby wasn't sure. But it didn't matter since the lobster was firing at him.
Kirby quickly crawled through the vent and finally found an exit. The door was jammed shut. He heard the lobster moving closer to him, so he started spitting out fireballs to escape. The fire burned through the metal, but not quick enough. The lobster had reached Kirby and started firing at him once more.
He moved all concentration to getting the door open. The shots hurt a lot, but he would worry about that later. Right now, the fire had finally melt the metal and both Kirby and the lobster were freed from the vent.
It appeared that they had landed in the reactor. Just Kirby's luck to land in the room that would play a key role in taking down the battleship. The lobster was still firing at him, and it appeared to get stronger every time it landed a shot successfully.
Kirby leaped up onto the lobster and started spitting fireballs at it's ‘head’. He thought that might be the weakest point in the robot. The lobster turned it's head around and started firing at Kirby once more.
One shot was enough to knock Kirby off of it and onto the hard floor. The impact from the fall was horrific, but he couldn't give up. Not yet. The lobster had decided to switch gears, and instead fired at Kirby with paint.
Kirby brightened up at that. Paint was undoubtedly the easiest copy ability for him to use. He quickly discarded the fire, and inhaled the paint. He now wielded a mighty paintbrush, which he used to attack the lobster. The difference between regular paint and the paint Kirby used was the weight. This paint weighed a lot more then your typical paint.
Eventually, Kirby covered the whole lobster with paint. The lobster wasn't able to handle the weight, and it collapsed into the largest part of the reactor. Kirby grinned. Killing two birds with one stone was very practical when he only had a certain amount of time.
The reactor immediately burst into flames the moment the lobster made impact with it. Kirby quickly ran out of there, using a door to escape. He found himself back on the outer deck, but in a different location. He was greeted by yet another army of enemies. Except this army had more solders.
Kirby found himself struggling more than before due to the pain coming from his back. It took him longer to clear them all out. Once they were all gone, Kirby took out a Maximum Tomato and swallowed it whole. The pain from his back was instantly healed. He smiled to himself as he headed towards the front of the ship. He needed to make sure that the ship went down, but far away from any Cappies or Waddle Dee's.
He emerged into a sprint, not stopping for anything. This was very important, and he could not afford a mistake. Everyone was counting on him. He couldn't let his friends down.
Finally, he reached the front of the ship. The deck over here was different from how it was from the rest of the ship. Here it had more railing which surrounded a large platform. And something was perched on top of the platform. Kirby couldn't make out what it was. All he could see was a plum colored cape dancing in the wind.
And right in front of him was a sword. A sword for he, Kirby to use. Kirby inwardly groaned. He was horrible with the sword copy ability. Or at least compared to the performance of the rest of the copy abilities. He wished it was something, anything else. But no.
It was a sword. And a sword it shall be.
Kirby cautiously picked up the sword, discarded the paintbrush, and inhaled it.
And the battle started.
-Meta Knight's point of view-
The room was filed of misfits. It was rather shocking. It contained a large bird, a red tinted Waddle Dee sporting a sailor hat, and a couple of knights sporting different types or armor.
The bird, Captain Vul, was piloting the grand ship. Even though he was a rather difficult person to work with, he made a great pilot. And that is what Meta Knight needed. Nothing more, nothing less.
The battleship, named the Halberd, was being piloted towards the worst civilization in history; Dream Land.
Meta Knight despised Dream Land. Everyone and Everything in that pathetic town objectively sucked. The people were sorted into one of two groups; the practically slaves, and the languorous aristocrats. The people given power did absolutely nothing with it but force the civilians to work.
Unfair wasn't even the word to describe the situation, it was something much more. Something more depressing. Something more… pitting.
Other planets gave birth to towns and cities that have suffered due to this horrific use of government. And it appeared that Dream Land might suffer the same fate if nothing changed.
Which is why it was time to put an end to the nonsense.
“Woooo-boy, I can't wait to get started with this!“ The captain cheered. ”It'll be the best thing ever to blow that town up.“
”Hey, we get to participate in the fun too.“ One of the knights, Mace called out.
The Waddle Dee in the sailor hat who everyone nicknamed ‘Sailor’ frowned. ”I th-thought we weren't blowing up Dream Land…. after all, the Halberd doesn't have any bombs installed on it.“
At that, everyone turned to face their commander and the one who came up with this brilliant plan, Meta Knight. He was tucked into the corner of the bridge, lurking in the more shadowy parts of the room.
”We aren't blowing up Dream Land,“ He responded coolly, ”We're merely bring order to the place.“
Even though most of the crew couldn't see him, everyone nodded in agreement. Nobody dared go against what he said in fear of what would happen if they did so.
”Well, either way it'll be fun,“ Ax Knight said with a grin.
”It'll be a night to remember.“
”Yessss. It'll probably be one of the best things we do in our entire lives.“
Everyone but the oh great commander were buzzing in conversation, scheming out what they would like to do once they rid Dream Land of the pure evil.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang coming from outside.
”What was that?“ Javelin Knight asked.
Vul was scanning though all the security camera footage. ”It appears someone unwanted has boarded the ship.”
Everyone crowed around the computer that showed footage from the deck. One of the several armies that was patrolling the exterior of the ship was currently battling what appeared to be a round, pink ball.
Kirby.
Meta Knight knew that Kirby was the only exception to the two groups of Dream land. He was carefree most of the time, but he fought for the place countless of times. He even fought him once. The Knight knew Kirby could put up a fight, which might lead to their downfall.
This could not be allowed to happen.
“What do we do, Sir?” Mace Knight asked.
“He'll assumingly enter the ship. Once he's inside, unleash the Heavy Lobster on him. Simple.”
Everyone nodded in agreement as they watched the battle unfold. Truth be told, Kirby is a truly skilled warrior. He was winning against the troops. Meta Knight cursed under his breath. His troops were weak. But there wasn't time to worry about that, he would get back to that later.
In no time Kirby finished off the troops, leaving the part of the deck on fire. The crew was amazed at how powerful Kirby is. All of a sudden, Kirby started picking at a possible opening to the inside.
“What's he doing?” Captain Vul squacked.
“He's breaking inside!” Javelin cried out.
It only took Kirby a few minutes to get inside. Vul was planning on keeping track of Kirby, but he immediately lost him.
“Where did he go?”
Sailor shrugged. “Maybe he's in the vents?”
“That's perfect! Get the Heavy Lobster in there!”
Axe pushed Vul out of the pilots seat and started guiding the Heavy Lobster through the vents. It didn't take long for them to find Kirby.
“FIRE!“
Axe, Vul, and Javelin gathered around the button to fire, and starting spamming it. Mace was the one who was aiming.
Right when the Heavy Lobster got to Kirby, he ran away. ”Coward.“ Mace muttered.
”Find Kirby! Just get him!“ Vul screamed.
Everyone was fighting over the control panel to try and find Kirby. Sailor sighed and glanced over at her master. If he disapproved of his crew's actions, he didn't do anything about it. Instead he merely observed.
By the time they found Kirby, he was attempting to break out of the vents. Once again the fire button was being spammed.
”Where does the vent opening lead?“ Javelin asked.
”The reactor, I think.“
Axe once again pushed an infuriated Vul over to try and get Kirby. At last some shots landed.
”See? I have a better chance at getting Kirby, you dumb bird.“
Vul looked like he was about to attack Axe until a cold glare from Meta Knight told him otherwise.
Kirby was able to break out of the vent, and so the Heavy Lobster followed. Most of the shots missed, but a decent amount of them actually hit. And that was just enough.
As the fire button was being spammed, it suddenly stopped.
Javelin examined the controls. ”I think we've ran out of bullets.“
Vul cried out in annoyance, but everyone ignored him. It was for the best, after all.
”Do we have anything else to use to load the Heavy Lobster?“
Mace pulled up the Heavy Lobster's controls and carefully examined it. ”We have paint, perhaps we can use that?“
They were about to load up the paint into the Heavy Lobster's system when Vul pushed the two of them out of the way.
”Y'all are too slow, you see how quick Kirby's moving?“
He quickly reloaded the Heavy Lobster and started firing the paint at Kirby. While it wasn't as effective as the bullets, it was good enough.
To everyone's surprise, Kirby discarded the fire he was using and inhaled some paint. Now her had a paint brush. The machine was still firing when Kirby leaped up out of frame.
”Where did he go?“
Axe looked through the Heavy Lobster's installed security camera's. ”I don't see him…“
Suddenly, Meta Knight pushed the fat bird and the knight out of the way. He examined the camera for a moment.
”He's obviously on top of the Heavy Lobster,“ He said in a deadpan, ”Turn it's head around and he'll be there.“
The commander took a moment to glare at Vul and Axe before retreating to his usual spot.
Vul quickly reseized the controls and turned the Heavy Lobster's head around. Sure enough Kirby was there, attacking the robot.
”How much damage did he to to the thing?“
”About 34%. Not much.“
Vul kept firing the paint at Kirby, but the damage to the Heavy Lobster was building. The arms on the robot were too short to reach Kirby. So instead he shook the robot and Kirby came flying off.
”There we go, nice and easy….“
Axe grabbed the controls and started firing paint again. But Kirby quickly dodged it all and started shooting paint back at the Lobster. The battle was intense for a bit until the Heavy Lobster's camera was covered by paint.
”What happened?“
”We lost sight! And now there's 73% damage on this thing!“
Javelin looked at the other security camera footage. It showed that Kirby had knocked down the Heavy Lobster and….
…And knocked it into the reactor, which burst into flames.
”Uh guys, we have a serious problem.“
Everyone looked at the footage. It was horrific. Without the reactor, the ship couldn't fly. And they already started feeling the effects of it. The ship started to wobble slightly.
The crew turned to their magestic leader. ”You saw what happened, what do we do now?“
Meta Knight considered the situation for a moment. He didn't warn his crew how strong Kirby was, but he expected something like this to happen. The Halberd was done for. There was only one thing he could do.
”Evacuate everyone immediately. The ship is done for. It'll sink into the ocean below.“
Everyone looked shocked. ”But sir-“
”There is no other way,“ He said, ”This is how it has to be.“
At that, Vul quickly flew out of the room. Mace, Javelin, and Axe soon followed. But Sailor stayed behind.
”What about you, S-Sir? Are you going to st-stay?“
Meta Knight glared at her for a moment. ”There's one last thing I can try, which is why I'm staying. But you must get off before the ship sinks.”
Sailor gave a small nod before leaving.
Now Meta Knight was alone, as he knew he would always be. Nothing about the situation surprised him once Kirby was in the picture. He only wish that things would have been easier for him.
He still had one last defense. The only way to seek victory now was for him to drive Kirby off the ship by himself.
Which of course meant a battle.-----
I've written better but I'm impressed how quickly I wrote this. Perhaps I'll share more fanfictions in the future :>
