Yandere Simulator: Midori Adventure - Development Report #2

Well, hey hey hey! After eight long days, finally, Development Report #2 is here for you all!

First of all, of course, Merry late Christmas! I was supposed to write this Devlog yesterday, however, I didn’t have enough time because I had to do multiple things (spend time with family, rest a little bit, talking with friends online, and etc), so, I’m sorry for being late on writing this. I’ll try to have more time to write my Devlogs from now on!

Anyway, it’s time to start the Devlog, where I will talk about important choices in Yandere Simulator: Midori Adventure! However, before that, don’t forget that you can always donate to me through PayPal, as some kind of support for my Visual Novels! Link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=64KJ4F5QBU8MA&lc=US&item_name=Stefannofornari%20Games&currency_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donateCC_LG%2egif%3aNonHosted

Alright, time to begin talking about one of the most important things of the game:

The Important Choices, and how they affect the ending of the game. Of course, it’s better to start by talking about the important choices of my other games. (Look out for the spoilers if you haven’t planed Yandere Simulator: The Prequel and The Sequel, yet!)

In Yandere Simulator: The Prequel, you could pick two kinds of choices that would affect the ending of the game: You could pick the “light” choices, which were options that would make Yandere-Chan/Ayano Aishi become a little bit more happy and less “dangerous”, or you could pick the “dark” choices, which were options that would make Yandere-Chan/Ayano Aishi become more dangerous and crazier. Depending on how many dark and light choices you pick, you could get four endings: Two of them were light-hearted endings, where Yandere-Chan decides to not become a murderer, and she decides to make Senpai fall in love with her simply by being his friend, first. Meanwhile, the other two endings were dark and brutal, where Yandere-Chan decides to become a murderer, so that no one could fall in love with her Senpai. One of these dark and brutal endings was the real ending to the game, while the other one was supposed to be a secret ending, which happened when the player picked way too much dark choices.

Now, in Yandere Simulator 2: The Sequel, the endings would be affected depending on how many choices you picked while playing as Yandere-Chan while she talked with Senpai. If she disappointed him too much, you would get an ending where he doesn’t fall in love with you. However, if you picked lots of choices that made him happy, you would get an ending where he falls in love with you. But, as you all know, the ending you would get in the game also would depend in the first moment of the game, where you play as Yandere-Chan while she tries to convince Senpai’s sister to let him have a girlfriend. If you failed to convince her, Yandere-Chan would kill her, and the player would get an ending where she is dead, and Senpai could have fallen in love with Yandere-Chan or not. However, if you managed to convince her, Yandere-Chan wouldn’t kill her, and the player would get an ending where she is alive, and Senpai could have fallen in love with Yandere-Chan or not.

Basically, in all of my previous games, the important choices always appeared either when the player had to pick the right option when talking with someone, or when the player had to make a decision about the character’s future. This is NOT what happens in Yandere Simulator: Midori Adventure. The important choices in Midori Adventure are made in a different way.

As you all know, in Yandere Simulator: Midori Adventure, the story is about Midori Gurin taking care of YandereDev when he gets sick, and at the same time, she has to develop Yandere Simulator for him, since he can’t develop the game when he needs to rest. The important choices in Midori Adventure are made when Midori Gurin is developing Yandere Simulator.

Yandere Simulator: Midori Adventure has an unique feature, that isn’t present in any of my previous Visual Novels: A Special Challenge. When Midori Gurin starts to develop Yandere Simulator in the game, something called “The Development Challenge” will begin. In this challenge, the player will face situations while developing Yandere Simulator where Midori Gurin needs to decide something important. There are two options in each situation: The right one, and the wrong one. The player has to pick lots of right options to win the Challenge. As you progress through the game, more Development Challenges will appear, and they will get a little bit harder each time they appear.

Now, you may be asking yourself: “How does a Special Challenge affects the ending of the game?”

And the answer is simple.

Yandere Simulator: Midori Adventure focuses a lot on Midori Gurin trying to help YandereDev, and she also tries to help him by developing Yandere Simulator for him, so progress doesn’t need to stop while she is sick. So, with that being said… Without giving spoilers, I can only say that the player needs to beat ALL the Development Challenges in the game to unlock the good ending. And, if the player fails one development challenge… Of course, you get a different ending. If you fail most of the development challenges… You get a bad ending.

Well… I guess that’s it for the Devlog. If you wonder how much progress I did since the last Devlog, I can say that I have made a decent amount of progress. The game was 25% finished by then, and now, it is 35% complete. Until January 2018, the game won’t have any progress, since I have to get a rest after the developing the game for quite a time and do some other important things while I have enough time. cof cof, I mean playing a few games I’ve bought like Super Mario Odyssey, Final Fantasy XV and Skyrim, cof cof.

In Development Report #3, I’ll talk about the differences between Yandere Simulator: Midori Adventure and my other Yandere Simulator Visual Novels (besides the Special Challenges), and fun facts about the game itself. But anyway, since I won’t write a Devlog in the last day of December… I’m gonna wish you alk an early Happy New Year! And thanks for following the development of Yandere Simulator: Midori Adventure.
