Yapping About SRB2 Zones


Greenflower Zone..

Does a great job it does introducing you to the game. It serves its purpose well. The atmosphere is very peaceful and I like how you can see other zones in the background! Its enemies are also very simplistic and I'm pretty sure are inspired by Sonic 1's Green Hill Zone Badniks. Overall Great Zone!

Techno Hill Zone..

Great zone with its atmosphere, I really like the transition from Greenflower to Techno Hill because in Act 1, its very similar to Greenflower Zone but with a Technical feel, and Act 2 brings you into a building continuing off of Act 1. The enemies are pretty good in this zone too! Although I HATE the Buzz Badnik, especially the Red Ones, they are so fast and catch you off guard sometimes and I just find them very annoying to deal with. The interesting mechanic in this zone is the water, instead of being like regular water (or Toxic water in previous versions) when you fall from a certain height, you go into the water and bounce right up, it serves great for getting some secrets!

Deep Sea Zone..

I find this zone to be a bit good to be honest. Like the name suggests, it's a water zone. And water zones in Sonic games are not really the greatest. I hate the water levels in some Sonic games, yet this one feels great to me. It's obviously Deep Sea so it takes place (kinda) deep underwater. It's also ancient since you can see remains of ancient buildings and whole Temples in this zone, in Act 2 most of the zone takes place in these. The Badniks are fitting for this zone although there is one that is annoying but easy to deal with so its not too much of a big deal.

Castle Eggman Zone..

My 1. favorite zone in this whole game due to its beautiful atmosphere and its Good & Fitting Level Design. The Boss is definitely one of a kind though, its not just hit Eggy, its more than that (For the 1st Phase at least..), you see, in order to hit Eggy, you gotta press some buttons that are in an easy to learn pattern. This is pretty much why I love Castle Eggman Zone and why its one of my top Favorite Zones of this game. The Badniks are fitting for this zone (Okay all the Badniks in these zones are just fitting for these zones, I'm tired of repeating it every time..) I really like the archer-like Bad his that shoot you from Watch towers. You can also find Knights and Badniks with shields. The Knights can also be in statues, they break out and catch you off guard when you don't expect it. Which makes you keep an eye out.

Arid Canyon Zone..

It's a Canyon, what more did ya expect? The Badniks are great in this zone (except for those birds..). And another cool mechanic in this zone is that there are minecarts (YAY)! The boss is Fang in this zone, and it take place on a train! Which makes the boss a bit more exciting!

Red Volcano Zone..

A beautiful looking zone that I find one of the most annoying to beat. You really need to pay attention to this zone, as there are pterodactyls that will grab you and you have to break free out of their grasp. This is easy, but the thing I hate the most is their placements, they are placed in such areas that make them such a pain in the a- to deal with. There is no boss in this zone nor is there an Act 2 in this zone either, its one of the unfinished zones in this game.

Egg Rock Zone..

Eggman sure put his mind to it in this zone, we got anti-gravity! This zone is basically Techno Hill Zone except its more technical, and I mean more TECHNICAL. There are a lot of new mechanics that you shall experience, as it's one heck of a ride. No spoilers for you now. This zone had a boss but it was scrapped.

Black Core Zone..

I'm gonna be so for real with you. Black Core is basically a Boss Rush with Metal Sonic. (He takes the first two acts, the first act being a race and the second being his true boss fight.) and Eggman, who is the final boss. Speaking of the final boss.. The current final boss is actually a placeholder! The final boss is Black Eggman (I'm pretty sure he's Metal Robotnik from Sonic OVA..).

Anyways, that was a lot of Yapping. I might cover the Bonus Zones and Special Stages, but that's another time.
