Just upgraded to the newest Alpha 1.2.9 build, is this normal for anyone else?

So apparently Mojang got tired of 1.2.9 after a few hours and upgraded to 1.3.0_05, but the weird moon is still there, and it looks way too polished to be a placeholder. Is anyone else dealing with this?
