First off, I don't think the caps really have any important part in the Mario lore, just a mechanic in the game. Secondly, Land was the game in which Mario MET Daisy, it's not like they knew each other before. And finally, what proof do you have for this?

Not good proof. Also, nothing says that Luigi and Daisy are dating. I think you were talking about Daisy being Luigi's caddie, which has NOTHING to do with love, nor dating.

He was jealous, yes, not because of Daisy, but because Mario got to save the Yoshi kids on Lavalava Island while he was somewhere else.
