Yesterday I was cleaning my PC and by mistake deleted the project with the game. Now I am in complete despair. I do not know whether to start all over again and finish, or try to make a better version.

I recently found out that you can link a gamejolt account to a game and the achievements you receive will be displayed in trophies. Therefore, now you can log in to your account and the achievements you receive will be shown in gamejolt as well.
