Basically, Zephyr's whole thing is that she's low-key an offbrand Ariel. But, there's many differences. Zephyr as a young child was swimming too close to the surface and hooked like a fish by some fishermen. The result of that is her lip scar/tear. Zephyr also happens to be a siren. In her world, Ariel is a cautionary tale and some horrible shit happens. As a teenager, she ignored the warnings, and had a fixation with the surface. Not the people, the grass, sand. Dirt. That type of stuff. This is around the time she got her septum. (Mind you, her hair was down to her butt before she left her colony.)

Once she got older, roughly around age 19, she left her colony of sirens and visited the surface. Her tail fades away as she dries, revealing legs. (Her tail functions kinda like the ones in 'Luka' or 'H20, Just Add Water'. Except the shifts aren't forced,theu can be repressed and controlled.) When she reached the surface, she cut her hair short and bandaged her eyes to avoid attention or accidentally entrancing people. Instead of seeing greeted by a castle or loyal prince, she saw poverty, g@ngs. The worst parts of society. Instead of letting it turn her sour, she allowed it to harden her and make her become something greater. That greatness was her becoming a pirate. She's basically a mix of Ariel and Robin Hood.

Wren, her girlfriend is the runaway firebearer of the Stormridge clan. Wren is a drake/dragon shifter, and being a firebearer means she's seen as a high priestess almost. She's the catalyst of her clan's magic. She's what allows them to shift forms and breath fire. When she left, many of her clan were trapped in either their human or dragon form. Her ears are modeled after an elf's, and the scar across her left cheek is from her brother's hatching. The bandages on her arms cover some gruesome burn scars, and the swirlies on her right cheek are one of the things that define her as the firebearer. The other thing that defines her as such are the rings around her muzzle. (They shift to accommodate her movements, if her jaw opened, they's stretch.)

Lyra is a blind angel, and I don't have any lore for her. As for Dynasty, she's a reindeer hybrid, more commonly known as 'Winterbound' because that's when her kind are more commonly seen. She's a tavern keeper, and close to Zephyr and her crew.

RANDOM HEADCANNONS-

Xephyr- despite never touching beer- has an incredibly high tolerance, whereas Wren is a lightweight.
