Zstroyed – Devlog #1 Date: January 8, 2026

🧠 Progress Today

🎮 Player Movement & Controls

  • Full third-person movement implemented (walk, sprint, crouch, jump).

  • Sprinting drains stamina, which regenerates over time.

  • Camera rotates smoothly with mouse movement (horizontal + vertical).

  • Added TakeDamage() and Heal() functions for future combat and survival systems.

🤝 Survivor Interaction

  • Survivor interactions now require being close and facing the survivor.

  • Press E to open the interaction menu with Talk or Recruit options.

📊 Resource HUD Setup

  • Framework for a resource HUD created to show key resources (wood, stone, food, water, and optional items).

  • Ready to integrate with resource pickups once implemented.

🔜 Next Steps

  • Add open-world resource collection (trees, rocks, lakes, animals).

  • Hook resource pickups into the HUD for real-time feedback.

  • Begin base-building mechanics tied to recruited survivors.

📝 Notes / Observations

  • Third-person controls feel smooth and responsive.

  • Survivor interaction is functional, though more testing is needed.

  • Resource HUD structure is established and ready for implementation.
