NOTICE: This game is coming back, as a team is being put together.

Once every century, a mysterious and dark evil plagues the continent of Europe. That darkness is caused by men who lost faith in the Church, and the willingness to spark evil deeds.

The year is 1691. A dark and evil ritual has taken place in the ruins of a once prosperous European village just on the border of Transylvania. The occupants were resurrecting the dark lord Vlad Dracula Tepes, the Lord of Darkness himself. The black ritual only lasted so long before the sealed coffin burst outward and exploded, revealing a tall, dark figure with glowing red eyes. He smiled, and quickly, on the rocky hill just off shore of a nearby lake, the demonic castle, CastleVania, took shape and rebuilt itself.

Not long after, everyone in Europe would hear of this news. Armies were sent by the Church to eradicate such evil, but not one of the soldiers survived. They then had to look upon the Belmont Clan, and luckily there was a hero waiting on the doorstep: Simon Belmont.

Armed with his long-sword and the legendary Vampire Killer, he set off to CastleVania, to rid the world of this evil as his ancestors did...

This time the design ended up crunched and twisty, to fit into a mansion / castle interior. The main idea is to have a level that gradually turns upside-down until you reach the boss and the level is completely inverted.

Third design, the cave level. I imagined it would be cool to have parts of the boss scattered throughout the level in the form of mini enemies, and at the end you find out about the real size of the boss, it also has that multiple weakspots mechanic.

This one though small, it's more platform-like with a bunch of floating waypoints. I also played with the idea of a non-linear level. At the end the boss could also have a "hit the weakpoints to expose heart" kind of mechanic. What do you think?

Hello! GJ, I'm adding the first level idea, of course this is just a concept and can be changed but I think it'll be great to get our ideas flowing.

Good news: I'm gathering a team of other creators to aid me in making this project happen. Once we start working, we'll get this game up and running in no time.

Change in the art style.

If you've been following this project, you're gonna see that I've changed the art style to match that of the SNES era. Basically, that's what I'm going with now.

An Update on the Situation

Pretty soon, I’ll be able to start working on CV:TSC! Just gotta get some help from a friend, and it’ll be in full swing.

So, sequels...

If this first game REALLY takes off, I’ll get to work on a SECOND game, which will be an enhanced version of CastleVania II. OOOOOH… I can already hear everyone’s FAVORITE song playing nonstop…
