Introduction

[deprecated] Retro ascii puzzles & games has been split into 2 separate apps:

Please use "SliderPuzzles" or "RetroArcade" instead.

CoTerminalApps contains colored-ascii-character puzzles & games that run in a commandline terminal on msWindows, OS-X and Gnu/Linux. Now comes with SOUND, as of 25may2020.

Uses runtime-priority control in a Windows terminal.

They can also be rebuilt after installing the GNAT GPL Ada compiler.

Includes RPNcalc, SpaceInvaders, FROGGER, PACMAN and 10 puzzle games that use ascii characters only: crush(rush-hour), cslid(klotski), c7(flat7), caz(flatAZ), csok(sokoban), chio(hole-in-one), chio4(hole-in-one+4), c9(nine), cdd(dirty-dozen), cpac(Pacman), cpan(Panama)

The proper command to extract the archive and maintain the directory structure is "7z x filename".

Note that all of my FOSS games may be run from a thumb drive:

Simply unzip onto a USB flash drive [w/same file format] and run.

Windows users note: I suggest that you DO NOT try using the linux executables under WSL. Simply use the windows version [winterm.bat] because special measures (priority-controls) were taken on Windows to achieve arcade-level response.

9june2020: fixed blank screen problem as of v2.0.1

Big improvement in keyboard response for Windows by setting realtime mode programmatically. 30nov18. Further advice: reduce size of terminal window to bare minimum; then increase font size to fill your screen before starting games.
