The premise was okay but the lighting was really, really bad, and when my last battery died the game was just too dark to play.

Wow, it surprised me a lot! Maybe it's a bit too dark, I think I missed something, I wasn't able to play it until the end, but I'm gonna watch someone else play it, I am really curious, how it will end! ^-^

Update: It's been a long time since I played this for my channel, but I can now truthfully say I understand binary. xD I could not for the life of me understand it. :P
Nice game! The gameplay was fun, and the puzzle ideas were creative, but I thought the lights could have been a little more...useful. And the story didn't really creep me out, it more just reminded me how awful it is kids have easy access to **** these days (avoided spoilers).
Anyways, I really hope you keep making stuff, this is a lot better than a lot of things out there! Check out my Lumps Play for a different type of Let's Play:

About the game
Espy is a first person horror themed game.
The gameplay focuses primarily on # exploring the house, paying attention to details and changes in the house.
The journey of Espy take the player through steps of revelation of what really happened in that house, to solve completely the mystery behind the game.
Install instructions:
Unzip the rar file into a folder and run espy.exe to start playing
HINT : POTENTIAL SPOILERS, LOCK COMBINATION
From the response i have received so far, it seems that most of the people have a problem figuring out the lock combination in the game.
The combination is actually in the form of BINARY in one of the notes.
8421 is how you read the binary code
EXAMPLE:
0101- This is actually 5 (wherever its one, add the corresponding number. If its 0, don’t add the corresponding number)
8 -> 0
4 -> 1 = 0+4+0+1 = 5
2 -> 0
1 -> 1
