What do you think?

I've been reading all of the documentation on the Atari 1200 on development. It's actually really easy. All we have to do is find source codes, pull parts out of them, and use that to throw together a good game. Graphics aren't real hard to program either.

Okay, so we haven't met with everyone yet, but Joey and I said a space detective game would be interesting. #puzzle #KSURetroGames20 #Atari

Quick Summary:
We published our demo version of our game: Gone Dark today. The goal of the game is to fly though space and investigate a space station that you have lost contact with.

With the time that we had we wanted to show the games main mechanics!

This week, I developed the main menu for the game. It looks awesome. It has three options. Start Game, Options, and Exit are the three choices. Options has a few graphics settings, namely screen resolution adjustments. Of course, Start Game brings you in.

One thing that has been at the forefront of my mind is accessibility. Using a colorblindness filter they are still easily discernible on most of the forms. Those with deuteranopia would have the hardest time, so I should consider adjusting the values.

We noticed in playtesting that the enemy projectile being the same color as them can cause issues with visibility. So we adjusted the pallets, Green is the player, yellow is the enemy. #KSURetroGames20

I sat down and finalized some of the art assets for the flying section. From What I've seen of Joey's demos they truly feel like the Atari games that inspired this project! #KSURetroGames20
