Submitted for the 157 Mini Jam - Electric Gamejam, created in 72 hours. Lumin is a prototype 3d platformer puzzle game (or supposed to be) where your character (a battery) is actively trying to restore power to his friend (the light bulb). To do this, the character has to interact with key switches around the map through platforming and puzzles. Although, when the player leaves the main room the batter starts to lose power thus introducing the limitation "on a timer" in the literal sense that you have a limited amount of time to find the switches in the room otherwise you'll run out of power. Enemies will also try to steal and drain your power.Â
Unfortunately I did not have the time to implement all the features and mechanics I a wanted to add but IÂ may work on the project in the future if IÂ get some good ideas, but here are some key aspects of the game that IÂ learned through its production:
Proper and clean code/script structure
Getters and Setters
Enemy states
Cinemachine camera control
What I hope to improve in future projects:
Character controls
Player feedback (controls, screen shake, etc)
Audio
Pre-planning
Genre research (what makes the game fun)
Thanks for playing! This was the first game that my wife helped me imagine and draw the concept art for.
