What do you think?

wot engine

The game did not run that well for me, because I have a sucky laptop, the game kinda broke on me, and honestly, I feel that the whole sassy and sarcastic narrator thing only works for certain games, like The Stanley Parable, and The Unique Adventure. Not so much this game, though. I found it rather annoying, especially because I can't do anything while he's talking.

Is this in any way based of the Medievil games by Sony?

So i played this game and i dunno how i feel about it in it's current state and here's my feedback.

AUDIO: Throughout the game the audio of the narrator changes, sometimes he is SUPER quiet and other times his audio was at a great volume but i found myself turning my volume up and down quite frequently just to hear what he was saying. (Just an audio fix would be nice, just to make the quieter sections a little louder)
One thing i also noticed was that during the levels, especially the tutorial his audio would overlap meaning it was a flurry of him talking over himself which made it also very difficult to focus on what was going on.

Just another thing i noticed with the audio is you might want to prioritise Narrator > Gems, I found myself having to stop frequently to be able to hear what he narrator was saying while i was playing because the sound of gems/attacks would drone out his voice, it would be like "Sentence start ([DING DING DING DING] While collecting gems) Sentence end" just because the volume of gem collecting/attacks was really loud so i had to either stop to listen or just ignore it and continue. So maybe when dialogue is running make the game volume subside.

Gameplay: During the tutorial one thing that kinda got me was that the game would pause and you'd be kinda forced to listen to the narrator and sometimes he went off on a tangent, meaning i'd be stuck just trying to move on and having to just wait it out. I suggest possibly adding a skip button or just allowing the player to still move and adding text for a quick explanation and letting the player choose whether or not they wish to stick around and listen to the comical voice over (Which is really funny by the way so props to that).

During the 1st level after the tutorial i had a HUGE clipping issue with the first elevation platform which can be seen at (See 5:35 so see what i mean) I couldn't stand on the platform when it was going down, and at it's lowest point it would just drop me through it, this made it hard to use the elevation platform in general because at the platforms peak it would just drop me and not allow me to jump. (This was the only platform i seemed to have serious trouble with).

not sure if this is meant to be this way but in the second level at (10:30) in the video you notice that the stone/pebble platforms start to move out of sync, not sure if this is intentional or not but i sure as hell didn't expect it hahaha!

I got about 1/2 the way through the 3rd level before stopping the lets play because i couldn't figure out a way to get onto the platform seen at (13:40) after not figuring that out/Not being able to jump up there i kinda gave up because i couldn't find another way to go.
I figured not being able to jump up there was a result of not being able to level up my multi-jump in the skill point area on the main menu.

This is pretty much all the feedback i can give. I understand it's in the demo stages and please don't take this feedback the wrong way!
This game has great potential and i can't wait until the game is fully complete and the kinks have been straightened, a few of my subscribers said they're looking forward too it as well.
I don't know how much game making experience you have but you've made a solid effort and i hope you don't give up, these are just my suggestions and viewpoints from a players perspective and hopefully you can fix some of the issues such as the platform and the skill-point system for multi-jumps! :D Keep up the fantastic work!

Here's the gameplay if you wish to watch a goofy australian test your game! (second time writing this because gamejolt didn't post it last time for some reason. I'll add more if i can remember it, timestamps are added in case you don't wanna watch the whole thing).

Merlin, a very powerful and wise wizard needed an apprentice; to help around the house. He used his powerful magic and created his apprentice from some old armor. At this moment, Steve was born. With no flesh or bones holding him together, Steve was impervious to pain and could regenerate, should the worst happen.

Merlin was experimenting with spells such as inter-dimensional portals and even time travel. However, even with his great wisdom, Merlin's experiments went horribly wrong. He had torn a huge hole in the fabric of space and the worlds we know and love, crumbled and broke into thousands of shards. As Steve was not part of the mortal relm, he was not affected by Merlin's spell and the fate of the world rested on his shoulders.

With the crumbling of the worlds, grotesque and hideous creatures were spawned out of evil, outer-world dimensions.

Along the way, Merlin was managing to send notes to Steve to give him hints and enable Steve with powers and abilities. Steve has to collect all of the broken shards of the worlds and fix everything before it was too late.

You play as Steve. Can you be the hero, the world needs?
