What do you think?

Great ambience and level design, would love to see this developed further!

I would suggest to add a main menu with the following choices:
- Items (display items we have acquired during our journey).
- Options (raise/lower sound effects for example. The jumpscare sounds are extremely loud on my end).
- Exit game (can only exit using Task Manager lol).

And a few other QoL things i would like to see...
- Fix the few minor spelling mistakes.
- Maybe "Press space to continue..." on game-over screen.

Well done so far

Memento Mori friend

also love the game

i cant load it just keeps wanting to instal to my pc

Hey there! I was checking around your game and I found a little problem right at the start.

The game would unfortunately not open for me, due to some DLL error. I had to edit the game's Game.ini to make it work (just changed the .dll to 300 instead of 301), but then again, I'm not sure if this varies from PC to PC or something else entirely, so it might not even be that big of a problem.

Nonetheless, I played the game to what I believe is just as far as you've programmed it (which is just on the 2nd floor, right?) and, I gotta say, it has been a long time since I was impressed this by an RPG Maker game. I loved the way you set the ambiance of the game (with those Ao Oni and Ib vibes all around the place), the musics, the way you handled the tilesets and so on.

I did, however, find a few mistakes on my playthrough (they really just nitpicking, to be honest, but, in the end, they do make a difference).

Nitpicks include:

  • A few spelling mistakes and typos, such as "Huh, i diddn't"

  • The player facing the wrong way while speaking with Lydia the first time (then again, it was just because I was checking the drawers :v). A quick solution is to just add a movement content in the event and make the player face right (yeah, I also use RPG Maker a lot :p).

  • Lydia's sprite has a little pixel of her feet over her head (just pull her sprite up a pixel or two and it's all good)

  • The metallic string item is above the player and barely noticeable, which made me miss it the first time. Maybe make it level with the player or just add a little more glow to its sprite, would do just the job.

  • And, just as Ziwz said, a menu with your items and options would be a nice addition to have.

But yeah, apart from all of that, the game is pretty solid so far, and I'm expecting to see more of it!

(Edit) I also recommend a few scripts for the game, which would certainly make the experience feel even better:

  • Diagonal Movement (unless you want to keep it 4 directional on purpose to make it harder to escape from monsters)

  • Text Skip (Yanfly's got a good one, and this script makes skipping previous read text better than just spamming space, to be honest :v)

  • Message Busts (but this one depends both on how you made the characters and on personal preference, so consider this one as an extra)

  • Lune Smooth Camera (yes)

  • Achievements (although this one can be let to the end of the project, something I didn't think about while creating mine)

Some other stuff that may help out as well is changing the System graphics, the game's font, and some other stuff as well.

Aaand that's it!

Good luck with the project!

hi, i enjoy the game it's interesting. but when i walk to the library i don't know what shall i do! so i hung on this place haha, more than 30 min so can you plz tell me what should i do actually i go every where but i couldn't found the answer of this place i should run quickly or replace the glass key by something else or what??? plz help me

Memento is my first ever game project and is going to be a #horror , #adventure and #puzzle game about the thematics of death, regrets and what comes after.

I try to create a dreadfull and depressing overtone with believable and interesting Storytelling.

Since the game is entirely story driven, there will be no regular combat, as its not fitting for a Horror game of this type.

(But be wary, this doesnt mean you can't die or lose.)

Playable Versions will be posted on a regular basis and serve the purpose of giving me some feedback and criticism on how people like or dont like certain features.
