Monster Mania

pretty nice demo. a bit hard on the difficulty part but manageable. the pixel art is what stands out, however - all the custom sprites look great, especially the enemies and the portraits.

here's some notes i wrote down while playing through the demo, hope you get some feedback from them:
- replacing the game's default font with a pixel one would do wonders for the design aspect.
- lmao that's not a stick
- in the Blade of Grass description, it's "Devil" not "Devel"
+ nice detail that if you lose to Leatherback she lets you go but steals some cash. would be good if there was a hidden quote from her if you ain't got any on you at the time of the fight :)
+ the loot maze down from Viron's shop is nice. i like it.
+ the monster designs are pretty good. they range from stuff you'd see in a bestiary for DnD 2nd edition to earthbound-esque chaps, and they're all illustrated by a hand of a master.
- the leather jacket is actually worse than a tunic????
+ the music is nice
+ rock fruits deal damage to you lmaoooo best purchase ever
- you can move around during the cutscene where Leatherback joins you for the first time
+ heart attack has a sickass design

the final game, i'm sure, will differ a lot from the demo - in a good way, i hope. even so, the demo was rather pleasant to play, finished it in 20 minutes - good stuff. wish you and the game well :)
