Reve. My man. My dude. I just have to ask one question: why?
Necrocage, although *objectively* bad (what with all the nonsensical dialogue, really weird hitbox placement, janky gameplay mechanics etc.) had a very unique charm to it, in a sense that it is weirdly endearing despite its rather numerous flaws. It certainly provided me and my friend a lot of entertainment. And you just had to go ahead and ruin that with Necrocage 2 — a game which I was actually somewhat excited about.
As usual, your music taste is superb and you seamlessly integrated it into background music for your game so no criticisms there (though I'm not entirely sure about the legality of it; after all, I don't see you even crediting the artists anywhere. Or maybe I'm blind.)
Graphics, I don't really care about. Though one thing that quirks me is the fact that some female models look like s*x dolls and it's very off-putting. Otherwise, you're decent at assembling an environment. Good, even, as in the first game you managed to get me immersed with what you had.
As for the story, you're much, much better at visual storytelling than you are at writing dialogue. Your English is far from good and it isn't fooling anybody. Why not turn that weakness into strength, though? Stories told purely through the environment and escalation of conflict — zero actual written word included — could be your own gimmick. Plus, it doesn't need any translation.
Now, what makes Necrocage 2 so fricking bad? Unfortunately, this sequel exemplifies everything wrong with the original and more (at least there weren't any annoying tank control sections anymore. Hey, that's a plus.) The jank in the combat becomes even more glaringly obvious once you're unable to mow down through everything a la Necrocage 1. You also kept piling up masses of enemies which, by the way, doesn't make the game difficult, just insanely tedious, ruining the fun factor. I can't think of that tree tumor/whatever area without shivering at the thought of all that I had to experience, including getting stuck in doorways, an instantly respawning horde, my shots inexplicably missing the Mass Effect husk rip-offs despite the crosshair being on them, etc.
The game itself was also just missing that freaking fun cyberpunk adventure feel, instead settling on a short-lived pseudo-Nordic mix which... had potential but wasn't carried out well.
Yeah, I think I'm going to do exactly what Vall did and act as if Necrocage 2 was just a dream.
End of the NECROCAGE 2 trilogy,
Vall is trapped in what looks like an underground Necrocage by a creature, Multiple XB are resurrecting with the power of the great tree, how many more Necrocages have survived the world reboot than Vall proboco in the afterlife?
