Summary

Far away there is the world of Phantasar.
On this world they too played many games.
Pymtheg was very popular among the Befindos.

Pymtheg is very similar to games like Bridge, Klaverjassen, Whist, Rikken and so on. It does require a special set of cards and has of course its own rules.

Status

The game is currently being tested with some friends of mine, to make sure the rules are not too strict and not too lenient either. We are quite far in our tests. The deck itself is also in need of a few changes.

Your imagination

Pymtheg is a fantasy based card game. Come on guys, use your artistic imagination. If you are an artist and have great ideas to create a card deck for Pymtheg. As long as they have the numbers 1-15 and the 4 elemental symbols making a complete deck of 60 cards (and can thus be used to play Pymtheg) it will be acceptable. I'd like to feature them them all but a few rules for being featured:

  • It must be a complete Pymtheg deck. Meaning 4 elements (wind, water, fire, earth) having the numbers 1-15.

  • Fantasy themed decks are preferred, but basically any theme goes, as long as you don't violate copyrights. Yeah I'm sorry, decks based on Mario or Sonic cannot be featured here, unless you can prove to me you got an official authorisation.

  • I'd like the rating of this game to be "ALL", so that rules out "mature" themes for featuring. Has nothing to do with my own views on mature stuff.

  • Should this game go "viral", I'll stop featuring decks here on Game Jolt, and try to set up my own website for deck featuring. Simply as it will otherwise just be undoable for me to work out. ;) (What, me a dreamer? Say what you want) :P

  • Card file format | PNG

  • Rules file format | PDF

  • Rules languages | English, Dutch

  • Errata** languages | English

  • * Phymtheg as a game on itself requires 4 players no more, no less. The subgame "burn" can be played as a stand-alone game and then you can play the partner variant requiring 4 players no more, no less, or the "solo" variant requiring at least 3 players and allows maximally 6 players.

  • ** Errata documents are written when there are errors in the rules creating very undesirable game situations or when the rules are not clear enough and will thus lead to many interpretations causing incorrect gameplay. Errata documents will very likely be published through the Dev Log system. The Github repository will always have the most recent Errata documentation.

Troubleshooting:

When there is any trouble about the playing rules or about the BASIC DECK please don't hesitate to create a ticket on the issue tracker

(Issues about 3rd party decks will be closed and ignored and be labeled as "invalid" UNLESS, the decks are noted here as "official", then the creator of the specific deck will have control over the Pymtheg repository and thus be notified on those tickets).
