What do you think?

You entered an old abandoned building on a dare thinking it vacant. Once inside, however, you have come to the realization that it is far from it. Armed with only a finicky light that doesn't seem to work when you move, you must find your way out before something finds you.

Objective: Navigate the dark room and try to find an exit while avoiding the creatures in the dark.

Controls:
Movement โ€“ WASD
Run โ€“ Shift
Pause โ€“ P
Toggle Full Screen - F

Gameplay Mechanics:
Red Light No Light โ€“ When you arenโ€™t moving, your light is automatically activated. The creatures in the room stop moving once your light is on. However, they HATE the light and every time they are exposed to it (when they are within the radius of the light) they will get a little faster once it goes back out.

Running โ€“ Running can help to move around the room faster, but when you run you are loud enough that everything in the room can hear. It is possible to outrun a creature as long as they havenโ€™t gotten too fast.

Randomized โ€“ The game has an element of randomness added to it for replay-ability. The location of the doors, the broken paths, the initial location of the enemies, etc. are all #randomized on each play. Even in the randomness there is always a valid path to every door.

Sounds:
When walking in the dark, audio clues can help your survival. Headphones might help.
When detected by a creature, it will make a distinct cry when itโ€™s about to chase the player.
When the player bumps into a broken tile, it will make a loud squeak, letting the player know they bumped into it, but also letting the creatures within a certain radius know as well.
When bumping into a wall, a sound only the player can hear is made.

Difficulties:
There are three difficulties in the game. The difficulty effects many variables including the number of doors, the number of creatures, the size of the room, the speed of the creatures, the detection radius of the creatures, the percentage of broken tiles, etc. Can you beat all the difficulties?

Modes:
Escape โ€“ Just try to find the exit before getting caught
Locked In โ€“ The doors have been locked and you need to find a key somewhere in the room before you can escape.

Trophies:
As of version 1.1.0, six #trophies have been added to the game that can be unlocked by Gamejolt users who log in, three for #escape mode and three for "Locked In". Can you collect every single #trophy?

Warning: Game Contains #Jumpscares and loud noises.

Note:
This is a mini-project/#indie #horror game that I decided to attempt based on a gameplay idea I had about what would be scarier, not knowing what's in the dark or knowing what's in the dark but not where in the dark. It is the first game I have attempted to put out.
