A Maze for Owls is a small exploration platformer with elements from Metroidvania games (you collect items to proceed further, but there is no fighting). You must collect 32 ancestral feathers to learn to fly.
IF THE KEYBOARD INPUT DOES NOT WORK, CLICK THE SCREEN. That should set the focus on the game canvas and let you use the keyboard.
Controls:
Arrow keys: move left and right
Z: Jump (once learned)
Z on air: double jump (once learned)
Z on air + down arrow: head thump (once learned)
Enter: pause
Story:
YOU ARE A YOUNG OWL.
A YOUNG, SIMPLE-MINDED
OWL. UNLIKE THE OTHER
OWLS, YOU ARE TOO
STUPID TO LEARN TO FLY.
HOWEVER, RUMORS SAY
THAT SOMEWHERE ON
EARTH THERE EXISTS A
MAZE FOR OWLS LIKE YOU.
IF YOU GO THERE AND
COLLECT ALL THE
ANCESTRAL FEATHERS, YOU
MIGHT LEARN TO FLY.
Supported browsers:
Tested on Opera and Firefox, should work on Chrome and Chromium. Not tested on Edge, definitely does not work on Internet Explorer and very likely not on Safari, either.
A little note on the sound effects:
I used some cc0 licensed sound effects from freesound.org to create the background sound-thing.
