What do you think?

OK - so I left my text adventure days behind me - sorry. I'm just not patient enough and I struggle to absorb large amounts of text.
But I gave the game a good play, and reckon me and Chris are pretty good mates now although a bit annoyed that I have now idea how to get that gold nugget.

I found the backpack menu a little unresponsive. I want to be able to press enter and enter. Not enter..............[menu closes]...........enter. :D
As with all text adventure games, its not long before i'm swearing into the console as I simply cannot find the "right" command. hints/prompts or accept commands would be useful - but this could just be down to my lack of experience in this genre.
The ASCII art was a bit abstract and takes a while to get used to, but certainly an interesting take on the visuals.

All the best with the game

is it finished?

Wow! nice! i love text adventures!

HURRY AND FINISH IT IM SO INTO IT, CHRIS JUST TOLD ME TO RUN!!
no seriously, im so into your game

i like it but it seems a little short. keep going its really fun

*UPDATE: As of 4/5/2015, Version 2.0 is now available!

A Traitor's Tale is a large text-based adventure game that has been in development on and off for over a year. Unlike other text adventure games, this game will feature several unique endings, special awards you can earn, puzzles, mini-games featuring ASCII art (no sprites used!), and more.

One week ago, in the country of Tebro, President Chambers was murdered by an unknown person. You decide it is time to take a hike on Mt. Tom to take your mind off all the turmoil in the country. Little do you know, you are hiking into the middle of that turmoil. There are several ways the game could end, but only one truly successful ending. Your job is to reach that successful ending by
collecting "secrets" from the neutral endings and replaying the game with these new pieces of information in mind. The murderer of President Chambers is a unknown, and your job is to find out who did it and why, and to bring that criminal to justice. Your quest for information will take you through Mt. Tom, Ronaya Town, caves, seas, the swamps of Woffra, the beaches of Yorr, dark pine
forests, and more! (Note: Not all these places are accessible in this version of the game and you cannot reach all of the endings or completely solve the mystery yet.)

Many places in the game are based off of actual places near where I live, including Mt. Tom, the airplane at the summit, the dark pine forest, Ronaya Town, the porcupine cave, and more.

The Real Mt. Tom

Mt. Tom and other places in _A Traitor’s Tale_ are based off of real life places near where I live. Here’s an actual picture of the “short but steep” and “easy but long” trails found at the beginning of the game:
