Nice game!
Here's Part 1 out of 3 for my feedback on your remaster :
Due to an issue presented in it, I currently cannot continue.
I'll be doing this kind of thing for every set of 4 stages as I assume there are at most 4 fortress stages as well (hence the 3 parts).
It's only then that I will use and evaluate Robot Master weapons too as normal stages should be perfectly do-able Buster-Only.
Seemed like the least I could do after you went out of your way to add an alternate key for firing + it's good practice for me as this is only the second Mega Man fangame I actually "review" in some way.
So far, despite some hick-ups, I can already tell it's FAR less buggy than the OG game which by comparison seems like a waste of time to play if you're looking for a good time.
As someone who has played the Final Chapter to conclusion, I take it there is not that much reason for me to give this paintjob a run?
Tried playing it briefly but no rebindable controls made the game literally unplayable as the key used for shooting is (currently as of this writing) broken on my keyboard.
Did you edit the bosses' AI pattern in any way? From what I remember the flame robot master in particular was unbeatable without an E-Tank in the Final Chapter as he did ludicrous damage combined with very bad telegraphs.
Is this just 8 stages or has this remake gone the extra mile and included 4 castle stages as well?
Years ago I made an attempt to make a Mega Man game when I was still learning how to program. It's still on my library page "Mega Man the Final Chapter". You will see the game is very broken and has a ton of problems with bugs and glitches. Crazy Mega Man fans hated the story I gave the game as well. So after years of much more learning how to program and making a number of other games, I went back to remake a Mega Man game. This game is a much much better than the Final Chapter. I am still smoothing out wrinkles, but over all the game is ready to be played by Mega Man fans. I decided to not include a story in this game for the simple reason of not pissing people off, so fans use your imagination. It's still the classic same old stunt of Dr Wily making new robot masters and trying to take over the world.
This project i used tiles, music and enemies from all the classic NES games and mixed them into this game. The only thing thats original on my part is the 8 robot masters. Even with them I mixed parts of other robot masters and put them together to make new looking creations.
I hope all you fans enjoy it! #fangame #action #adventure #platformer #retro #scifi #strategy
