What do you think?

Is Calenture fun? Not quite. But it's a step in the right direction. Check out our gameplay :3 More Asylum Jam 2016 titles to come.

I Like the Game

This definitely has potential but in it's current state, I can't reccomend this to anyone.

love it

Hello, FishMooseInteractive! I decided to give your game, Calenture a play on my channel. It was really fun and unique to play. Not many games have gameplay type yours does. I really enjoyed getting to shut down some of those stuck up snobs on the boat, haha! Thank you for such a wonderful experience! Overall, 7/10.

This is not - by any stretch - a finished game. It's a stretch even to call it a "game" at its current state. It's more of a pretty prototype with an uncertain future.

The Premise:
You're trapped with four strangers on a lifeboat in the middle of the Atlantic.
Food is running low and someone has to be the next to swim.
You are continuously faced with decisions that may result in the death of one of your fellow travelers - or even in your own death.
Calenture is a game about carefully managing resources and balancing relations during the extreme circumstances presented.

Calenture was a part of the 2016 edition of the Asylum Jam (#asylumjam2016). We did not aim to make a finished game during the 48 hour time span - instead we aimed to make a small but presentable prototype to be expanded upon in the future.

The jammers:
Tobias - Attempted narrative design, sound design and music.
Alex - Programming, graphics and overall uselessness.

Updates:

  • Ratings are now disabled. Due to the unfinished state of the game, we feel that any potential ratings may be misleading. Thus, regard Calenture as a proof of concept if anything, and not a finished product.

  • The core mechanics of Calenture has been transferred into a new project of ours, (currently) called A Song for the Sunrise, in which we have created a vastly better foundation and setting for the game. If you wish to follow Calenture through its metamorphosis, head over to A Song for the Sunrise.
