I like the scope and the idea of the game. Reminds me of the good old times when every game was a new exciting adventure. A whole world to explore.
The drawings are beautiful, although overall the art is a bit messy sometimes.
The controls I did not find very intuitive at all which stopped me from playing at some point.
Awesome project.

This is a game I really want to love. The setting, the art, the descriptions of characters and locations, and the goal of the game are really exciting to me. Right up my alley. The actual mechanics, though, are a pretty high barrier. I do understand that this was intended to be in the style of an older game, and it seems like you've captured that old-school feel wonderfully, so, well done!
However for my sake, I wish the interface were just a little modernized to make play a bit smoother. Things like having to adjust the map to the original zoom level before you're able to leave the map is painful. For that matter, I'd rather just be able to hit "M" or something. In a larger sense, it's difficult to understand what's going on in the world, and thus difficult to make decisions about how to achieve my goals. I acknowledge, though, that this might be saying more about my impatience than your design decisions. :)
I do hope you keep working on this because I feel like you've got the secret sauce for a really cool game in here. Best of luck!
Really nice graphics, quite the complex game! I included it in part 1 of my Adventure Jam compilation video series, if you would like to check it out :) https://youtu.be/bElBaiUPiCo
Centuries from now, the seas will be gone. What once was an island is now bounded by salted wastes, more remote than ever, where the dregs of humanity struggles to survive in a time of war, slavery and famine.
Revealed by the falling waters, the causeway snakes lazily out into the wastes. From it came a diplomat, with a warning and a message for whomever rules this land.
Take control of up to 15 characters and defend the land from invading marauders. There can be no surrender, only victory or escape.
Explore a map with over 4500 locations, and visit over 100 towns, settlements and ruins; each with their own detailed description and history.
Hone navigation skills with the in-game world map; there are no sign-posts, no HUD markers, no mini-map, just a map and your wits.
