What do you think?

Pretty fun game, I loved the voice acting. Nice puzzle structure, even if sometimes it wasn't clear what my goal was it was satisfying to solve it. If I have one complaint, it's the wideness of the screens, to go from one end to the other you need to walk a bit too much.

Very well done. Sensible puzzles and fun characters all voiced. Great work

I really liked the overall package of your game with story, voice-overs, etc. More clean humor than I would have been able to commit. It was cool to play such a class act western hero. I liked your animations, scenes, etc. I'd go for more custom artwork to match the characters, although it certainly allowed you do much more in the two weeks. I'd love to work on a western in the future.

This game really remind me a spaghetti-western flick :-) - nice mix between background (I've read in another post they're 3d renders - I wouldn't tell that) and pixel art - puzzle and characters are more than enjoyable - and music/voices fit really well - good work -)

Great western atmosphere. Loved hearing some familiar voices like Ivy and Adrian doing their best western accents :D And the main character's voice was so good. Fun humour in there, and an interesting art style too, mix or resolutions, but it worked!

WALKTHROUGH

Getting things kicked off

Enter the Sheriff's office.

Talk to the town’s sheriff. He’ll ask you to prove yourself in three ways.

Proving you're the toughest

Go out front of the Hotel and Store and find the discarded horseshoe near the water trough.

Take your horseshoe to the traveling salesman and trade it for his salsa.

Outside of town but before you reach the mine, there’s a pepper plant growing near a large rock. Get yourself a pepper.

Add the pepper to your salsa to make it crazy hot.

Go into the Saloon and ask the bartender who’s the toughest person there.

Go talk to the brute. He'll step away to reveal the true toughest person in town.

Challenge Big Jane to a salsa eating contest. You'll lose, but now you you know you need that milk.

Ask the piano man to play something faster and then when the big man steps away from the table, take the milk.

Use the milk on yourself (to drink it) then challenge Big Jane to a salsa eating contest again.

Take your new pin back to the sheriff as proof.

Resolve a town dispute

Head into the hotel and talk to the arguing men to get their permit.

Visit the store and buy the matches off the top shelf.

Talk to the woman outside the saloon and ask her about emergencies.

Go into the church and try to talk to the judge.

Go outside the church and use a match on the hay in the wagon.

Use your gun on the church bell.

Head inside while the people are out getting water, and have the judge sign the permit.

Go back inside the hotel and deliver the signed permit.

Return to the sheriff and let him know what you’ve done.

Solve a crime

Talk to the Otis, the man in jail.

Talk to the banker and get the bag.

Visit the mine and talk to the foreman.

Enter the mine and pick up the pickaxe.

On the path between the mine and the church, use the pickaxe on the large rock in the background. This will get you a small rock.

Go to the residential area and talk to the blind man about the paperweight he found. It's the missing gold nugget! Trade your rock for his gold nugget.

Show the Sheriff the gold nugget.

Ending the game

Once all three quests have been completed, go back to the Sheriff and talk to him.

THANK YOU!

This #adventure game was created as an entry for #AdvJam2021, start to finish in 2 weeks with no prior experience in Adventure Game Studio.

We learned a lot during the development of this game, and had a blast making it. We hope you enjoy it!

all-ages

Hi everyone! We just posted version 1.0.4. The only differences between this and the official #AdvJam2021 version is a couple of bug fixes where some sound effects weren't playing. Enjoy!

Just posted our final update (1.0.3) before the deadline of #AdvJam2021. If you played a prior version, the only changes are a couple of audio glitch fixes.

We have one more audio issue that we'll work out next week after some much needed rest.

Enjoy!
