holy carp, deltarune yellow is real
if the original deltarune get me hyped af, I won´t be able to wait for this fangame to come out
Um hi
I wanted to send you a thanking email until i realized you haven't shared it so i guess the comments will do😅
As iam talking to you I've just finished chapter 1 of the game and boy did i enjoy it as ... it was awesome for an indie game with such a small development crew👍 it was such an eccentric experience tbh
Of course it didn't have as much background detail as deltarune nor undertale yellow
But it surely didn't stop making a great adventure at least for me so thank you for the hardwork 😁
I wish i could've supported this project more that just this but the value of our currency is so low that it wouldn't make even a single count
You probably wouldn't even be able to buy a coke with my monthly salary and even if you could my country(iran which you might not have even heard of) is sanctioned so no international money exchange could be made i guess that would leave only my words to cheer you up and keep you DETERMINED through your time of continuing this project😘
So keep it up soldier Don't give up we've got your back
Wish you the best
Your fan from a far far place
Bye
Hope the best on luck on creating this. Undertale Yellow was great, and I can't wait for others take on the aftermath of it!
I wondering...
Since there are multiple deltarune Yellow game being made, are you going to Rename it ? like for example "TS!Underswap" or "PS!Outertale".
3/27 - a clarification
Just recently another take on deltarune yellow came out, and its character sprites look similar to the ones on the 12/9 preview.
I would like to clarify that these two projects are separate, there is no unauthorized asset ripping on either side
That take was made first (and without it this project likely wouldn't even exist.)
But after a while the dev burned out, I asked for permission to use some of his sprites and he agreed.
Over the next few months he worked on his project on and off before deciding that he'd start working on a standalone game for creative freedom. (we've also drawn inspiration from each other, some unique mechanics in his take are derived from the ones here and vice versa.)
Finally, a few days ago, he uploaded his project anonymously gave someone else permission to upload it here.
With that said, I absolutely recommend that you play the other uploaded take!
DELTARUNE YELLOW...
Or at the current moment, the concept of deltarune yellow.
Until the core gameplay systems are done, this page will remain as a devlog
update 12/9 - anniversary preview
Its been one year since undertale yellow released.
For the occasion, a preview featuring the (wip) battle UI!

featuring:
* A name for the human: Cole
* A 6th battle action menu. Monsters have magic split into OFFENSE and SUPPORT. Cole gets a SOUL menu, but what for?
* A unique battle UI layout. why? plans currently involve up to four party members, but deltarune's battle UI can only support 3.
* gif compression
update 10/15 - saving finished
saving/loading is now 100%, and that final bit of the puzzle framework was finished.
this means that the only major mechanic left is the battle system.
from there, there's not much left.
finish the almost done parts, make sure everything works properly, add in some extra content to make it presentable, and then the tech demo is live!
edit: also forgot that shops are a thing.
update 8/31 - not dead, just lazy.
since the original post in april...
dark world pause menu - mostly done at the start of june, all thats left is half of the skills menu (being saved for when the battle system is worked on) and the config menu, which will be done around the same time as saving/loading.
puzzle framework - mostly done as of now. just wrapping up one final thing.
dialogue system - was given a do-over. also needs dialogue choices.
room transitions - also given a do-over.
CORE SYSTEMS - CURRENT STATUS
DONE
basic movement (walking + sprinting)
world interaction
room transitions
party system (in a non-hardcoded way)
light world pause menu (inventory, stats, talk)
save/load
puzzle framework
ALMOST DONE
dialogue system - needs dialogue choices.
dark world pause menu - needs half of the skills menu and the config menu
NOT DONE
battle system
shops
Once the core systems have been completed, an "extremely basic tech demo" will be prepared and released for the purpose of showing that there's something here to help find spriters and musicians
