I really like the concept for this game. It reminds me of the board game "Train."
However, like you mentioned, it could really stand to have some real gameplay. The player would most likely be hit much harder by the impact of the final revelation if they were able to become absorbed in the gameplay. They would have a "I had no idea what I was doing" moment. As it is now, It just felt like I was watching the game. I just mashed 'repair lock' until the end and I never got a chance to identify with my character or feel like I shared his goals. As a consequence, I believe that the ending had a much smaller impact than it could have had.
I really hope you keep working on it because it has real potential to be a great game.
I like it but i agree its a little disturbing.
