Thanks for the comment. First of all yes I did make everything myself, except for the motion blur.
I like your ideas and will definitely add some sort of reward system. The sprites are simple boxes because I'm very bad at drawing and used all my power with the other sprites, but I will change them at some point. About peoples wrists, I will see what using the keyboard is like and put it in if it helps.
Thanks again for the helpful comment :)
First of all, the physics that the game is based upon are quite nice-- props if you did that yourself. The game itself has a nice concept, but it's also a concept that is sort of painful for your hand after a while-- nothing you can do about that I guess, except possibly adding a keyboard mode, though that could change the intended feel of the game that you wanted to exude. But there are two main improvements that I see possible here. First, you could greatly improve the overall feel of the game by adding some sort of theme and real sprites rather than boxes-- for example, in a medieval theme, the base square could be a castle, while the enemy boxes could be replaced with goblins, treants, evil fairies (:O), etc. (and even bosses, like a large dragon who requires many hits-- perhaps of a high velocity-- to take down). The second improvement is maybe even more important: I strongly recommend that you add some sort of reward system to the game. This isn't the 80's, so just having a "high score" doesn't cut it anymore. The player needs to feel progress. Perhaps the enemies could drop coins which could be spent in a shop to improve your mace-- increase the chain lengths, increase the mace ball size, etc.
Elasti-Ball is a small non-stop game I made in about 12 hours (complete with shiny graphics). Now with online scores!
Objective:
You must kill as many enemy robots as you can while protecting your base.
Controls:
Your weapon is a spike ball which is attached to your mouse with an elastic rope (hence the name). You must use the mouse to swing the ball around and hit the squares with it, the faster you hit the square the more points you get.
If a red square touches your base you will start losing health so be quick!
This game is very easy to get used to, but harder to play. Let me know if you get 1,000,000 points (that's over the score limit), and please report any bugs.
If the game comes up with an error it will create a file called 'game_errors.log', please email it to me so I can fix the error; [email protected]
