As the clock winds down on another year in the Fantasy Land calendar, preparations are made for the most anticipated celebration of the year: The Festival of Light. It is held every year in reverence of light itself, and this year, the usual festivities are going to be even more exciting.
A new sport, growing in popularity, is the Fireworks Duel, in which two combatants attack each other with massive waves of beautiful, magic fireworks. It's one of the most exciting - and difficult - competitions of beauty and dexterity yet, and it too is about to be revolutionized by the addition of the giant battleships that take on many appearances, also growing in popularity. The crew of these vessels can give them new abilities with their powers, further adding to the fireworks.
This year, there is a tournament of Fireworks Duels using these ships. The denizens of Fantasy Land are about to witness the most glorious sparkle show yet. Which of the thirty-six competitors will come out on top?!
"Festival of Light" is a vertical, 2D shoot-em-up with lots and lots of bullets, fired in increasingly intricate patterns. Dozens of unlockable ships, attacks, and power-ups can be found throughout the many stages, with four levels of difficulty that should give veterans of the genre a run for their money. Can you beat every stage and find every card in the game?!
The demo version contains 9 stages, 9 playable ships, and a total of 45 boss patterns and unlockable cards. The full version has 36 ships and 180 cards.
Default controls:
Z - Hold to shoot
X - Use Bomb card
C - Use Active card
Shift - Hold to move slower
Arrow keys - Move
Clearing a stage lets you exchange one of your cards for a new one. If you beat a boss pattern without getting hit or using a bomb, the character's card is available at the start of the game in all future plays. Cleared stages are available in practice mode, where you can freely try any pattern and unlock cards at your leisure. #shooter #bullethell #danmaku #arcade #retro #cards #powerups #action
Well I may have forgotten to change the game state to "complete" until just now, whoops. I do forget things sometimes.
