What do you think?

Great game but too short, i want more ! :D

Idea is cool, but execution is horribly clunky. There is no reason for player to ever NOT use bullet time - in fact, not using it is actively punished because it takes a fraction of second to engage it - and bullets are so fast that it's really easy to die in that time - and only way to activate the redirect is to let go of the LMB, which makes you go out of the bullet time - which you need to survive... Oh, and everything in bullet time is slow, so it's boring. So it's a game where optimal tactic is to play extremely slow and boring, in an extremely zoomed screen, with muffled music. Talk about self-sabotaging design.

Add enemies offscreen that you can't see, which issue is exacerbated by screen zooming in during bullet time, and we have a game with great graphics, innovative idea but execution which just feels pointless and unfair. I can't say I got very far but - why would why? There is nothing particularly engaging about the game. Slow moving camera and forcibly slow gameplay with nonexistent difficulty curve don't exactly make for an exciting experience.

What exactly drives me forward? Dying over and over isn't fun, I'm not exactly learning any cool uses for the mechanics (well, mechanic), there is no story, and while music and graphics are cool, it seems they stay the same all the time.

Sure, there is no punishment for death, with checkpoints being absurdly common - but this just results in player 'grinding' a section over and over until they get lucky and get to the next checkpoint by accident rather than by skill.

I mean, I'm definitely interested in where this idea goes, since with some redesign, this could become a good game. But currently, this is just a curiosity, nothing else.

I truly enjoyed this game and I thought the premise was pretty unique:

This game is amazing !! Please create a sequel or atleast a lvl 2 !!!

Man I would really like to see this developed into a full game with a plot about the protagonist (who is indeed interesting), or even little plot only to justify levels on levels of this: this mechanic is awesome! I really enjoyed that!

Made for Ludum Dare 32. #LDJAM

Control bullets with your mind. Click and drag to slow time and redirect enemy bullets.

You can read the post mortem, here: http://ludumdare.com/compo/2015/04/28/fathom-post-mortem

I will be developing it further. :)
