From The Dark is set centuries into the future after society has collapsed and the human population dwindled. Shortly after humanity got back on its feet, the world altered in strange ways. For one, weird creatures populated the earth. Humans unlocked magical abilities. Humanity even suffered a global disaster that stripped the sun of any light it once emitted, leaving the earth in a state of darkness.
In this world, you play as a lone survivor who wandered from the dangerous, dark, cold surface to an underground village which acted as a sort of safe haven. Unfortunately, there's no employment around for you to make your demand for resources appear profitable to the residents, so you're tasked with clearing out the surrounding caves and dungeons of the impending monsters.
Gather stronger weapons and equipment as you travel deeper. Fight stronger monsters with every new room you find. Discover more about the truth & what really happened for the planet to take such a steep incline. Unmasked two-faced traitors. Restore the light.
