What do you think?

This game has a very charming look to it and it's a nice idea. I just wish I'd be able to progress further, as I'm unable to get to the second chest. The yellow whachamacallits that are supposed to propel my character are just too hard for me to hit properly, as it's a relatively tricky maneuvre and I suck at platform games. As there's an enemy right at the bottom there, it means I have to redo the rest of the level (which is comparatively long and tricky compared to the earlier ones) and I gave up after failing about a dozen times.

My ineptitude does not make your game bad by any stretch of the imagination (in fact, I quite like it!), I'm just saying I would've loved to see more.

The core mechanic is interesting, and this could be an awesome experience without all the issues. The design of the puzzles is simple, but it was hard to solve them due to the problems with the physics. After 20 minutes I stopped playing because I couldn't use the second tool properly.

The visual style is good, and I liked the lighting effects. I loved the music, and the melody made me think about Undertale. Sound effects were fine.

I'm also in the jam, so I'll appreciate if you review my entry Short-term Battery: https://gamejolt.com/games/short-term-battery/340825

this game is terrible, the grappling hook makes me teleport between 2 places and is just straight up broken.
fix your game.

Great concept! I included it in my Adventure Jam 2018 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. https://youtu.be/bOhhr05eefA

A nice idea, the swinging feels pretty great, but unfortunately a little too buggy to be fun. The 2nd tool doesn't appear or reset correctly half of the time, and I gave up on the last boss because I wasn't able to kill anything because of that

The two explorers, Kayla and Emile were exploring a forest. They came across an abandoned village. Emile went to explore it and Kayla stayed behind. After a while, Kayla went in to find her friend. As she entered the village, she came across a rusted hook with a rope, the Grappleshot! Now Kayla delves into the dungeon-like deep forest to find and rescue Emile!

Explore the dungeons as Kayla with two useful tools to discover!

The Grappling-Shot, a hook tied to a rope that can seemingly be thrown in a direct line. Use it to reach places by throwing it in that direction, and swinging with it using momentum, or you can climb up it with ease!

The Red Orb, a mysterious tool located deep within the forest dungeon. This flail-like weapon can defeat enemies that lurk in the dungeon! However, it will only function if it is within range of Kayla, so be careful!

Grappleshot Act 2!

More work has begun on the second part of Grappleshot! The next part will focus more on large scale exploration instead of linear challenges, with more variety in whatever path you want to take!

New Update!

Patch 5/18/18

To those of you who have played Grappleshot, you may have noticed that many of the tiles in the game have lines between them all. Hopefully the new patch fixes that for many of the builds. Thanks for playing!
